Loans Crisis - Howards Saviour?

Postby mick » Thu Aug 16, 2007 3:09 pm

The US loans crisis is battering sharemarkets around the world, the banks are predicting interest rate rises independent of the RBA will occur particularly with non-bank institutions. Will voters trust a new and inexperienced Labor government to guide us through this mess? Has the equivalent of the Tampa sailed over the horizon again to rescue John Howard who has been thrown overboard by the Australian voter ?

From what I have read, Australia is well protected from the US crisis due to our strong economy but we'll see. I'm not sure we'll see a major impact here.

Management of the economy would have been an issue regardless of this current crisis but it will help Howard more than Rudd I agree
