What was the smoke over the city when I was Ubering to the pub about 4.20pm. Couldn't make out if it was from the city or hills but was heaps of it.

How often and how long do you water it booney?

What about fertiliser and coring etc?

My back lawn has always been great but the front ones struggle. Though I know I don’t fertilise as often as I should

exact same problem benny
my problem on the front lawn is there are three big trees drawing all the moisture from the turf and the ground is very compacted. I have almost given up on it. I think it is too far gone to recover.

Lawnporn on Facebook is your friend......although my patch is only about 0.1m2 and in a planter box, get a drink every couple of days and fertilize every 6 weeks during the growing season.

I water once a week until there is surface water on show, usually about 45-60 minutes. A good deep soak.

I, fortunately, haven't had to core as both lawns have good drainage and remain pretty good year round. I soak a couple of handfuls of dynamic lifter in a big bucket and when I've watered I spread this around. Every couple of months I use a Seasol watering pack.

If you've got trees taking the moisture then they're a big problem.

Never too far gone. Core, topsoil + gypsum, soil wetter application in spring.
