Why was Bruce fapping about the blackbirds last night like they were Hawthorn? Carey was almost as bad. At least Hawthorn won premierships.

Great performance from the boys on Thursday. Backs to the wall with Crouch down early, Sloane on one leg, and DMac getting a chin massage.

Positives:
Jenkins showed signs of his work in the off season to his much published 'weaknesses'.
Tex, first game back and straightened us up massively
Foggarty - wow, impressive young kid
Doedee rewarded after 2 really good, calm defensive games. Looks every bit a solid 200 game player of the future.

Negatives:
Atkins - stinker start to the year! Soft soft soft to add to some terrible decision making
Betts offering nothing atm which isnt ideal (clearly carrying a groin - could see him proppy in the warm up).
Crouch injury - cant cover with our depth in the mids being very shallow. Douglas back helps slightly

ADELAIDE will be without Matt Crouch for the next three weeks, with the reigning best and fairest sidelined with a left hamstring injury.

Crouch left the ground in the second quarter of the Crows' 36-point win against Richmond at Adelaide Oval last Thursday night.

The 22-year-old midfielder made the All-Australian team for the first time last year, and won the Malcolm Blight Medal as the Crows' club champion.

"It's a pretty straightforward hammy, low-grade," Crows GM high performance Matt Hass told afc.com.au

"We expect him to be out for about the 21-day period."

Star midfielder Rory Sloane (foot strain), forward Tom Lynch (illness) and midfielder David Mackay (concussion) need to prove their fitness for Saturday night's clash with St Kilda at Etihad Stadium.

However, key defender Daniel Talia is available after hyper-extending his knee against the Tigers, while midfielder Curtly Hampton has recovered from an adductor injury.

Forward Riley Knight (foot) has also been cleared to return.

Experienced recruit Sam Gibson will have to wait at least another two weeks before making his Crows debut, with his hamstring strain recovering slower than expected.

Gibson, 31, was a late scratching from the Crows' round one loss to Essendon, injuring his hamstring in the club's final training session the day before the game.

I’m not so sure he is.
The 3 clubs that are heavily in to him are a rabble and no chance of being successful in the remainder of his career.

Apparently at our Presidents function on the weekend our CEO said that Carlton and the Saints are offering more than what we can dream of but we will have room in our cap to make a decent offer and we are in regular contact with his manager. He added it’s up to us to make the club as attractive as possible and getting into a position of challenging for a flag.
Lastly he also mentioned that Wines was a big priority but his manager has indicated he is set to re-sign at Port in the coming weeks so it has forced us to look elsewhere.

Wines isn't going anywhere, correct.

Sloane must be a high priority for anyone with the cash in Melbourne.

I think a lot hinges on the Lynch situation as several of the Melbourne clubs have him as the number 1 priority.

Need the rest of the functioning organs to live though, any time St. Kilda see a window of opportunity forming, they move a wardbrobe in the way of it.
