Bookie Reviews

Postby Dutchy » Wed Aug 22, 2007 5:12 pm

Thought it was worthwhile posting the bookies that Im aware of as to be an astute punter you really need all the options to be able to grab the best odds, if your going to risk you $$$ you are silly not to ensure your getting the best return

BOOKIE REVIEW

TAB
Odds 3/10 - 14% takeaway on Win/Place, 20% takeaway on exotics, variable, SPortsbet odds are ordinary, SPortsbet is basic and rarely to you get better prices than elsewhere but occasionally you get a gift (AFL Total Scores)
Convenience 6/10 - Betting via the web is quite simple and website OK, better now they include treble approx, could do with an upgrade though, Netbet Pro is good software and free from the site. Phone service is very poor (cue Mal and betting on cricket on Sunday nights!)
Banking 2/10 - Annoying you cant electronically deposit funds into the account and have to travel to TAB to do this, you can do it over the phone but min of $100-, well behind competitors here, similarly if you want to withdraw you need to go to a TAB, no electronic trf set up, again well behind the competitors,
Overall - 4/10

CENTREBET
Odds 5/10 - Went public 18 months ago and ever since their prices havent ben as sharp as they used to be however they offer the most options of any bookie which is appealing and worth having an account with them. Their racing offer fixed odds or NSW tote odds and on Saturdays Supertab Odds which if the Supertab divvie pays more than their fixed price you get the Supertab divvie.
Convenience 8/10 - Website OK if you have broadband, farily easy to understand, phone service is good
Banking 8/10 - Good deposit options and withdrawls are in your account generally within 24 hours
Overall 6/10

IASBET
Odds 8/10 - Now my favourite bookie, have really developed and give very good prices on Sportsbetting esp the US Sports, they use $1.935 lines on NBA and Ive seen $1.95 lines on the MLB, they bet college sports also which most Oz bookies dont. Have great promotions to keep clients happy. Their racing Superprice is first class, they g'tee they will better 2 of the 3 totes in every race, so if you back a horse/dog and it wins and pays UNI $2.60 $2.90 STAB & $2.95 NSWTAB you will get $2.91 at least, alright you might not get the best divvie but overtime you will be well ahead (how many times have you seen the other states pay way better?)
Convenience 8/10 - very simple website which is quick to load (good for dial up) doesnt have all the flashy bits others have but thats good IMO, I love how you can key in the "stake" or "to win" which makes things real easy, phone service is good
Banking 8/10 - Good deposit options and withdrawls are in your account generally within 24 hours
Overall 8/10

SPORTSBET
Odds 6/10 - only that high cause of the SANFL!!! they are a bit like centrebet and not really sharp with their prices but worth having for the SANFL betting which is excellent, also offer some good exotic betting opitons like Perfect Pussies! and who will coach Essendon....good on them for giving SANFL fans a online option...in racing they give a home tote option which is OK...also have good promotions like a free $500 bet this Friday!
Convenience 6/10 - Website is a bit different and Ive had trouble loading it at times on different PC's,.
Banking 8/10 - Good deposit options and withdrawls are in your account generally within 24 hours
Overall 8/10

BETFAIR
Odds 9/10 - The revolution of punting, the ability to bet or lay is amazing and great fun, they are not a bookie simply a place where punters can match bets up with a 5% commision (2.5% on AFL), you get fixed odds on everything and usually pays up to 25% better than norMAL bookies....you can acutally trade odds while a match is in progress much like the sharemarket to gtee a profit no matter the result
Convenience 7/10 - Website takes a bit of getting used to and is slow if you dont have broadband
Banking 7/10 - Good however do charge a small fee for C/Card deposits withdrawls are in your account in 24 hours
Overall 9/10

So there it is the ones I use....feel free to add others and ask questions, if your going to join any of the above let me know and you can put me down as the referrer

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Terms & Conditions
The promotion is only open to individuals (the "entrants") who are 18 years of age or older excluding the employees and vendors of IASbet.com and its related and parent companies ("the promoter"), and their immediate families.
Entrants must have a registered betting account with the promoter.
The winning entrant agrees to authorise the promoter to use his/her name and photograph for publicity purposes and agrees to reasonably co-operate with the promoter in publicising the promotion.
There will be one winning entrant per draw. Each winning entrant will be drawn at random by an independent third party engaged by the promoter for such purpose, on the draw dates (as detailed in the contest schedule). The decision of the independent third party will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.
Winners will be announced on the promoter's websites within four hours of each draw. Winners will be contacted by the promoter via telephone within 48 hours of each draw. The promoter will conduct all reasonable efforts to notify the winner. Winners that have not been contactable 48 hours prior to the bet date (as detailed in the contest schedule), will forfeit their prize.
Unsuccessful entries and those issued after the closing date for each draw (up to the closing date for the final draw), will be placed in the future draws up to and including the final draw on 30 October 2007.
Entrants are only eligible to win one of the draws. Any unsuccessful tickets held by draw winners will be removed from future draws.
The prize stakes (starting stake) will remain the property of the promoter and the winner will only be entitled to retain the cumulative balance, if any, of the profits calculated on wins minus losses of bets placed upon conclusion of the race meeting on the relevant bet date. Should the cumulative balance be negative, the profit will be zeroed and the player shall not be liable for any portion of the starting stake which has been lost. Payment of this profit will be made within 7 days of the bet date directly into the entrant's betting account. The entrant may withdraw these winnings at any time.
Each winner must, on the date as specified by the promoter in the contest schedule, place the specified number of individual win-only bets of the specified amount on the events specified as per the contest schedule. Only one selection per race is allowed. All bets must be placed via the telephone at the official on-track Bookmakers' Starting Price exclusively with the promoter on the date and time, (9.30am AEST), as detailed in the content schedule. Bets that are not placed within 15 minutes of this specified time will be void, and cannot be carried forward to future races.
All bets must be placed in person, by the winner. This prize is not transferable, and may not be redeemed for cash.
If at any time it is deemed by management, that the spirit and/or intention of the promotion has been violated, the promoter retains the right to refuse the entrant entry into the draw or withdraw the prize at their discretion. Management's decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
If, for any reason whatsoever, all races on the nominated date are not run, the promotion and prize will be void. If at least one of the races is run, the winner will be entitled to any net winnings, even in the event that all races are not run.
This promotion is a joint promotion between IASbet.com and Canbet.com.au. Entrants will receive points for their activity at each of the individual brands. Tickets will be issued by each individual brand and not by the sum of the total activity across both brands. No physical tickets for the promotion will be issued.
Points for the competition will be credited within 72 hours of bets being settled.
Free bets do not earn points in any way for this competition.
Players are required to register for the promotion between 1 August 2007 and 27 October 2007 by entering the promotional code BIGBETBLAST on the My Accounts page of the website. Players will need to register at least 48 hours before each prize draw to be eligible. Once registered, players will be automatically entered into all draws. Players who have not registered for the promotion will not be eligible for the prize draws.

NSW/SUPERTAB have very good dog formguides
They have ratings and form comments
UNITAB just lists the last 3 runs of each horse and dog

SUPERTAB/NSW have flexi quaddies/trifectas/pick 4s
I quite often have runners in the quad for the amounts I want
Instead of 50c gaps you can have quaddies for the amounts you want
For example
some runners at 50c
others at 65c or even $1-33

Nothing personal against Unitab but the other 2 TABS have more betting
options which suit my style of gambling

well i went to the aud today (sunday) to collect & i noticed the lass at curly's desk had not rubbed off the western bulldogs v hawthorn game (bullies 24 points up) & i said to her 'i'll do you a favour & i wont claim you, but you better rub off the prices of the bullies v hawks match as it has started she replied' 'you couldn't get on anyway' she replied which i said 'oh yes i could its called betting in the run'

the look on her face was priceless that i actually knew the rules on betting on sport/footy

the main reason i didn't take the bet was the mal-dutchy telstradoom system & they also looked slow last week at footy park.
i thought secret groups were a thing of the past, well not on websites anyway

Both the lass and Bayman were clever
The lass knew WB would collapse in the 2nd half
Bayman didnt fall for the 3 card trick
Well done to both

Hey Bayman if HW was 4 goals up would you have told her ?
