That;s an interesting proposition. Bloody minded, but interesting nonetheless.

Also Port are saying they haven't had any conversations about a reserves comp with the AFL since 2014.
So you suspect the SANFL believe having Port and Adelaide is better for the competition as a whole than not having them?
The club has released a statement to that effect, but that'll get declared hogwash by those in here who believe it so.

Yeah we would never have seen Ken Farmer, Russell Ebert, Barrie Robran or Malcolm Blight play in this state if it wasn't for the Crows.
A bigger force than World Wars even before they were invented are the Crows.
Hard to imagine why some think they're arrogant.
Pretty sure that was meant to be 1990.

Really the AFL setting up a reserves comp has nothing to do with the SANFL.
If the AFL wants to set up a reserve comp they will do it regardless what the SANFL think and all the AFL clubs will do exactly as the AFL tells them to do.

That current resentment fence sitting Crows have when one of their SANFL players joins the local AFL side will disappear.
Costs will be up but surely the AFL will pay for it as some clubs wouldn't be able to afford it.

Whoops, yes.
I was referring to the struggles of a Sturt, north, et al in the 90s

Don’t think you will find too many crows supporters upset

Agreed.
Might not just cost them financially, but one could argue the competition was dying a slow death well before the entry of the two AFL sides anyway.
So the 1980s wasn’t a golden era for the sanfl.
Keep rewriting history fellas. BennyMac and Mw will believe you.
Apologies UK, that should have read before the entry of the 2 AFL reserves sides.

They're better off appealing for cashed up older people to return, the SANFL hasn't had a generation look at it as it's sole football focus for 30 years.
Ask everyone you know in their 20's how many SANFL games they watch or go to a year and how many AFL games they watch or go to.

U are aware That was essentially the AFLs sale pitch in 1990 to the SANFL
Yes, when the SANFL owned the Crows license.

I asked my 21yo daughter, she went to 20 SANFL games, 40 if you include that she was there for all the reserves too.
She went to 3 AFL games, one at Adelaide Oval and two at the MCG including the Grand Final which she had a free ticket to (big Killers fan).
The only others I know in their 20s don't follow the AFL at all.
Edit: 4 AFL games, I forgot about the Etihad game between St Kilda and Collingwood you gave us free tix to Booney!
