Another big round of games. Seeing that we are so close to the end of the season, I thought I'd include a premiership table so we can easily see the significance these games carry, as we ponder how many will be moved to watch these games.
Round 21
Saturday 25th August
North v Glenelg Prospect Oval
West v Eagles Richmond Oval
Port v Norwood Alberton Oval
Central v Sturt Elizabeth Oval (n)

My tips are:
North v Glenelg Prospect Oval.... fighting to stay in the five vs fighting to stay in the three, though I think that North's position is a little more precarious than the Bays, who need only to win one more game to keep their spot. On North's home ground and vs the old enemy I believe the entire oval to be decked out in red. For Glenelg's part I hope they get as many of their own folk going as is worthy of this game, but a bit of a myth (or fact?) has sprung up about the Bay's fans not travelling to Prospect recently, hope to see it turn around. My prediction, which includes a healthy Bay contingent is:
3,600
West v Eagles Richmond Oval ... West still have a good reason to fight this out. Only two games off bottom, and South look as though they have given up for the year. If Westies can pull off an upset then every West supporter in the state would wnat to be there to see it. Unfortunately this probably won't happen, and with the Eagles banging on the door of the top three, with North and Sturt both equally determined to hold their ground, a percentage boosting shellacking of the Bloods is on the cards. Stakes are pretty high for this one, but not enough fans to boost the gate I am afraid:
1,810
Port v Norwood Alberton Oval .... both sides have a chance, in theory, to grab fifth from the Bays. If Port lose, it will be mathematically impossible for them to play finals in 2007. If the Legs lose, they are still an outside chance provided the Bays have a shocking run for the rest of they year. There seems to be very little positive talk about the Maggie's chances from here, and with the game being at Alberton I can't imagine too many Norwood fans making the trip out there. Still a big game though, and a test of Magpie loyalty in the face of adversity. If the Maggies go on to make the five and their fans shun this game...well what can one say? I believe they will be there in their droves:
3,400
Central v Sturt Elizabeth Oval (n) Night game at Elizabeth. Dogs have top spot stitched up. Sturt are under assault from both North and the Eagles for their spot on the ladder. Up against the Crows though, so it will be interesting to see the crowd numbers, I think it will be anywhere between 5,000 to 10,000. A lot of pride and honour on the line here:
7,100
TOTAL....15,910
I'm gonna sit back, crack the top off a Pale Ale, and watch the Double Blues prevail
