Sorry to hear that mate.

One week ago yesterday and it's still hard to believe what happened, numb.

Can't take to my backyard being empty. In May there was 2 running around out there, now there's none. :(

It a worry- our other cat is nearing 17 and our dog is nearing 10, would be a weird situation to have an empty yard/house as far as animals go!

It's very bare. Cooking a BBQ isn't the same, mowing the lawn, even my daily routine of getting home and doing the "scoop" around the back lawn is no longer. Taking a while to get used to.

Just got an email from our Jim's Mowing franchise to tell us the chap who did our lawns has passed away.

Was only here last week and we had a chat about old cars. My XT Falcon was here and we went out, had a yap about it and we chatted about his old car that he'd just got back on the road.

Feel for the family this close to the festive season.

How basic manners are pretty much non existent nowadays, the amount of people that think it's common practice to talk with their mouth full of food is insane, all walks of life.

In Costco the other day some dude on his phone his phone almost collided with my missus, I then blocked him and told him how f***** rude he was only for him to apologize then get about 10 metres away call out to me "and you're an arsehole"

If I had a dollar for every time I've been called an arsehole... my wife would be broke!

I agree; manners have seriously fallen by the wayside.

These days, when you do something as simple as hold a door open for someone, or give up your seat on public transport, some folks assume you have ulterior motives. **** that, I do it because I'm not a complete dick*.

When did society deteriorate to this point?

Every old dude thinks society has deteriorated haha.

Polite people still have manners.

On the flip side the way society in general treats women, gay people, etc etc is better than ever.

We obviously have our challenges but society isn’t deteriorating

Polite people still have manners. Yes, but they are in few numbers than in years gone by.

On the flip side the way society in general treats women, gay people, etc etc is better than ever. Absolutely, no argument there.

There never used to be any free lunches, but these days it’s expected.

Working in hospitality I find Gen Z to be quite polite, similar to Gen X. Gen Y are just plain rude with no respect for anyone.

In the car with my 10 year old daughter today and she blurts out "I know Santa isn't real". I know I've probably been lucky it's taken this long for the penny to drop but still my first thought was sadness. More so when she followed it up with her best friend finding out a couple of years back, they grow up too quick.

She could always take up a religion if she wants to continue the tradition of believing in imaginary figures

I know it's drivel, but when the reality that they know it's crap smacks you between the eyes it still stings. The sooner they grow up the sooner the pain starts, on both sides.
