AF, dont think too many have read alot into it. good on blackwood, thats a great upset win thats done them the world of good for the finals, but think everyone knows uris are still a big step above them. but hey close to finals now anything can happen.

so is it only barker and ib fighting for spots now? or can onkas and blkwood change aswell?

Uri's had their chances. Kicked something like 1.5 in the 2nd quarter and 1.8 in the 3rd. Frustrations crept in giving away 4 50 metre penalties which resulted in 4 Blackwood goals. Uri's had both McLeans, Sutherland, Vidic & Cox out. Blackwood were missing Cahill, Greenock & Byrne. Allen played but clearly wasn't fit so that offsets the outs of both sides really.

Woods could be a dark horse in the finals. Had been written off as the side most likely to miss out on a finals spot out of the sides currently 3-6 on the ladder but to their credit they have answered their critics with wins over Onka's & The Cabbage Cutters at the business end of the season.

Well Magpie I heard mid-year from a good source that league secretary JC was going to challenge the big 'O'. I did wonder at the time re the 'conflict of interest' ramifications. The rumour has persisted tho and now the same sources insist the secretary has definitely resigned, and for the above reasons. If she has time to do the job and has the necessary support, let's give new blood a go. With all due respect for his workload, Owen has been a stale bun for years.
Older, wiser and been there. But still love that grassroots country footy.

I believe that jake sziller plays his last game on sat. before retiring. Highly unlikely he will get to go out with a win as the game is against Uris but as many Lobey people should get out to farewell the little man after what has been a great career.

Yes, she did resign. i believe it might've had something to do with the Battams incident and a culmination of issues. I think Jan is back until the AGM.

Jake Sziller retiring! Shame he has had to have the year he has had to put up with for his last one! Hope all you Lobethal players step up and give him a dam good effort after all the massive effort and loyalty he has given your club. A great player and a champion bloke to go with it. One of the better blokes I have played with! Hats off to him and I am sure he would make a great coach! Great career! =D>

Congrats to Sziller on a long career. Hopefully Lobey get a few more folks out there than there has been lately. Don't rate them to get up in an upset though against a very angry Cabbage Patch. Dare I say will the Lobey Sniper submit and retire his sorry *ss as well???

As for Blackwood upsetting Uris.....Doesn't anybody remember Blackwood being unbeatable 3 years ago, not losing a game all season only go out in 2 straight finals? Footy is a strange game remember. Saying that, I think a loss will be good for Uris, just like Lofty's loss to Onkas last year was a wake up call. Massive games this weekend to decide the 5....have to pick IB to sneak in.

Turn it up, Bernie!
I agreed with all that except your prediction.
I reckon it'll be a dead set cracker of a game with maybe 3 or 4 goals in it, but I can't see IB having the legs to get the points.

Ted: Uri would have saved a fortune with both McLeans's $1150 and Vidic out $550.
