She's an open finals series for sure in the Central Div. And if you think otherwise be careful (respect 3rd/4th/5th) cause one of them might just sneak up and take the flag.

rooster, i had nothing but respect for birdwood for coming up to div1 knowing that they werent going to have success striaght away, but after your disgraceful excuse for a club thought that was funny i think you guys should be plumetted back to div2 where you belong. the reason it was the highlight of the day for you is because your the worst football club ive ever played against. your a joke as a football team, your oval is a disgrace in reguards to surface and shape ( and thats coming from a lofty man with our oval having a big slope) your club rooms are the size of my left nut and your supporters are dumbest bunch of yokal hacks ive ever heard. take your wooden floorboards F off and enjoy the old cars rocking up from the bay mate cause thats your crap town is ever gonna be known for..

It may have been the highlight for you, mine was when DK put that loser on his arse!!
Your oval is a piece of shite (more potholes than shanty potheads), cannot believe the league are considering the first round of finals there.
We want Vaughn.

finals being played at birdwood! thats stupidity the oval has to be one of the worst in the league can anyone explain to me why the big O would schedule a finals game there whats the reasoning behind this decision? wouldnt imagine a large crowd would make it all the way out to watch a game at birdwood.

Interesting to see Ironbank advertise for a coach in the Sunday Mail. Does anyone know - is their current coach (Exelby??) leaving the club, or are they simply doing it because they have to as part of their constitution. Just seems funny for them to be advertising for a coach whilst still in the finals race..

[quote="The Crumber"]Can anyone confirm the rumour that the League secretary has quit so she can campaign for the big 'O's job without a conflict of interest occuring? Have heard this one on and off all year. Good on her if it's true.

Crumber I have also heard this rumour so could be interesting!

GWW you are correct the constitution states that IB must advertise every year. Just getting on with the process I guess.

Its all about the carparks... More carparks=more people can get in to watch, hence why the oval with the best surface at the moment wont be used

GTS, I don't like Birdwood either, but have never teed off like that!! I have flagged all season that they shouldn't be up there, and it seems some of the other Central Div supporters are reasoning with me. Don't write em off as a joke of a Footy team GTS, as only a few years ago, your blokes got a 40 goal smashing from a Red Hot Lobethal.

Well...a bloke's away from his computer for a day or two and look at all the catching up he has to do on this site!!
WTF is the league thinking with those finals fixtures?
Forgive my ignorance, but what would be wrong with Lofty vs Blackwood at Uraidla?
Not that I'd wanna go out to Lobey, but their senior teams probably aren't up to much in September.
I struggle to believe that Birdwood is the BEST AVAILABLE oval for a Centrals final game.

Hmmm...yep. But the boys are collectively, game by game, making up that 55. Must be close by now. Is that 3 straight seasons that the Tiges haven't beaten Devs? Or maybe 5 games, not 6.

All i can say about Rooster land, is

1) Crap oval, i know there were a zillion kids playing there last weekend for the carnival, but what an absolute SHOCKER, it may be ok for finals if you didnt hold the primary carnival there.

2) Change rooms = shocking, plenty of room, but no door for the visiting team, i think i may have contracted tinea if i used the showers.

3) the mankini, i mean come on guys, grow up and welcome to the big league. Your professionalism was a joke. I think DK should have gone back for a second hip and shoulder, well done Birdwood, i think that contributed to your flogging, way to fire up a team in the third quarter.

P.S. Can you come out and do that when we are playing Uraidla in the GF? You guys will DEFINTELY have the weekend off and we could do with some firing up then.

The ladder is out....

HILLS - CENTRAL P Points Percentage

Uraidla Districts 17 32 68.41
Mount Lofty 17 28 72.70
Blackwood 17 22 58.34
Onkaparinga Valley 17 22 56.94
Ironbank 17 22 56.44
Mount Barker 17 20 53.59
Bridgewater 17 10 36.90
Hahndorf 17 8 38.50
Lobethal 17 6 33.50
Birdwood 17 0 28.83

I dare say that Ironbank may move out of the finals if Barker FLOG Birdwood and Lofty FLOG Ironbank, is it possible with that percentage difference?
