By using data smart people can work out a heck of a lot very quickly.

Every time you run Facebook, that data gets put into a database. You liked the Sturt Club page? That's in a database. You made a status about going to the SANFL? That's in a database. You used your phone to navigate to an SANFL game? That's in a database. You used your credit card to buy tickets? That's in a database.

I don't mean to be rude and with as much respect as possible, Spargo, MW, Booney and other safooty.net posters, you've got no idea WTF you're talking about if you think you need to attend a game to work out the demographics of a supporter group. It's an incredibly stupid thing to say, in reality.

And you don't need to keep posting such diatribe to demonstrate your disrespectful attitude towards the competition many of us grew up with. A competition that Port Adelaide have (had) such a rich and proud history in. A competition that many people still hold close to their heart.

"Smart" people, if you include yourself in that, also recognize the importance and immeasurable ( by any means ) commodity that tradition is, that passion is and the importance of pride in the colours handed down through generations.

People like yourself "think" they're smart because they analyze things, people who are smart recognize that sometimes there's parameters that aren't measurable because they're human feelings. They're beyond calculations.

It should! It absolutely should be an easy beat.

Ollie Wines, Paddy Ryder and Chad Wingard aren't playing.

Kids and rejects and has beens are.

Neade, Howard, Bonner, Marshall, Toumpas, Austin, Summerton, Krakouer, Palmer, YOung, Eddy, Johnson, White, Lobbe, Ah Chee, Gray.

Easy beats? Bloody hell man.
Absolutely!

Neade - reject
Howard - ill give you that one, still a kid though
Bonner - kid
Marshall - toddler
Toumpas - reject
Austin - kid
Summerton - ill give you that one
Krakouer - wont play, or shouldn't. Reject.
Palmer - kid
Young - reject
Eddy - ill give you that one
Johnson - kid
White - has been
Lobbe - has been
Ah Cheee - reject
Gray - meh

So really, Summerton and Eddy are the only 'senior' footballers on that list of any consistent quality aren't kids, rejects or has beens. You're trying to argue that this side is good right?

I recall SANFL supporters arguing that these kids getting games when they shouldn't ruins the SANFL because they're getting gifts.

Where do I post? When was the last time you saw me post in the SANFL threads?

And I repeatedly said - BigFooty isn't better, unless its for AFL content. For the content I am interested in local stuff, safooty is unparalleled. How can you not understand this?

I *read* BigFooty way more than I do safooty for AFL, but I have an account here for my Mitchell Park stuff so post.

These blokes were good enough to play in the AFL Elimination final, but no good for SANFL?

Robbie Young - he's 22yrs old, not sure you can call him a reject.
Ah Chee was runner up in the Magarey Medal.
White, Lobbe might be has been's but they're still very handy at SANFL level.

The "reject" claim is a really stupid one - they may be "rejects" from AFL level, does not make them an lesser of a footballer, and does not mean they aren't still very good at SANFL level.

It's like having a junior at your club who plays underage SANFL - they may not play each week, but bet you wouldn't turn them away at Mitchell Park because they're "rejects".. nope, they'd probably still be in your top group of players.

I do when the supporters of that competition start ragging on my football club.

Wake up Booney. The SANFL wanted Port dead.

Booney wrote:"Smart" people, if you include yourself in that, also recognize the importance and immeasurable ( by any means ) commodity that tradition is, that passion is and the importance of pride in the colours handed down through generations.
I do. Which is why I am always insistent on the protection of that tradition and heritage in the AFL. The league, is irrelevant as the club, has moved.

Booney wrote:People like yourself "think" they're smart because they analyze things, people who are smart recognize that sometimes there's parameters that aren't measurable because they're human feelings. They're beyond calculations.
I do agree, but even those things are becoming much rarer.

Emotion is now measurable and mappable. Believe it or not.

I don't think so. You're much close to "UK Fan" type than I.

Sure, but as you and I would know, they're playing Reserves for a reason. It's like if you're on an AFL list you're instantly a star AFL player.

Most of the time if you're on an AFL list but playing SANFL its because you have high upside. You might not (in fact more than likely aren't) a very good player right now, but could develop into one in the future.

That's the point. Yes. Marshall, Howard et al will one day be far too good for the SANFL. But right now? They're skinny kids. Mature age senior bodies of SANFL clubs should eat them alive if they're worth their salt.

Which of course, as shown, they're not.

I do understand that it might be hard to hear because many of you are emotionally invested in the SANFL. But what i am saying is the truth.

You know it deep down, which is why you react with such animosity.

It's like the mum flailing the cop for telling her that her kid died in a car accident.

I think I'll be heading to the GF, but don't know who to go for.

I don't really support any SANFL team, but if I did it would've been the Maggies.

But I don't want to support the Power.

I'm going with Sturt supporters. So I want to barrack against them, because I'm a prick of a bloke.

Don't know what to do.
