Ports season wasn't too bad in '05. Finished well, won 4/6 and the two losses were by 4 and 7 points.

I don't see the Dogs as having a hangover. I would associate that with a good team that is disinterested the year after.

The dogs are an average team that had a purple patch for 4 weeks last year and are now regressing to the mean.

Fair play to them though, they still have a flag out of it. But it was one out of the box last year, not a case of them being one of the best teams going around

Trengove > Bulldogs : Stringer > Geelong : Menzel > Port

Nice simple 3 way trade.

Trengove is a free agent so it would depend on the contract size as to what port could get for him. If it's a second rounder they may not wanna pay that much for Menzel.

And the dogs will be asking more for stringer than that (even though he hasn't played well for 2 years)

Huh? 42 goals as a small/medium forward in a premiership season isn't going well?

Trengove and Menzel are FA's so no trade needed. Stringer will be at the Bombers or Saints, can't see him going to the Cats

Depends what comes cheaper, Ablett or Stringer and will also depend on Menzel's movement.

Kicked over 120 goals in the past 3 years and is in the top 15 goal scorers over the past 3 years. Only 23, get his head right and could be a huge pick up. Suits the Hawks IMO

Saints with Stringer and Dixon, handy inclusions ;)

When was AA a few years ago he looked like he was in track to become one of the best players in the Comp as a mid/forward. In the last two years he has been an average to decent small forward. This year he was terrible

Reckon this is why he is worth a punt if you are another club.

Support him and get him in the right headspace and he has a pretty high ceiling on what he can do

So apparently the reason why he re-signed was if he went to another club he would go to the bottom of the Australian Citizen list and he would have to start all over again. Apparently with Zac Thuoy moving to Geelong he has gone down to the bottom and has to start all over again.

The bye last year helped the Dogs. They got smashed by Freo the week before the bye then got 5 players back for the Elim final against WCE. West Coast had all the momentum beating GWS,Hawks and Crows but lost it having that week off. The dogs had a great 4 week run and the rest is history
