UAE beat the Saudis 2-1 this morning

A win or draw tomorrow night against Japan all but sees Australia qualify for Russia

That result is a massive bonus for the Socceroos. Even if they slip up against Japan, they are still a chance, so long as they have a big win over Thailand.

Yes they did draw in Thailand, but they were a little nervous that night, as you would expect, being their first time with the ladyboys. Second time round they should be a lot more comfortable and get an easy win.

Thailand played out of their skins that night on their home turf and in recognition of the passing of their monarch.
Since then they've done nothing.
Last time we played them home, in Perth, they copped a pounding.

I reckon I post this every game. How bad is Brad Smith? Worst player to ever play for Socceroos.

We now need Japan to get a result away against the Saudis, or smash Thailand by more than 3 more than the Saudis beat Japan

Great result for Northern Ireland defeating the Czechs 2-0 and securing passage to the next round whilst knocking the Czechs out in the process

Id say they aren't that interested in qualifying this time around. Frustrating to watch, and I don't even really care!
