Thinking of you mate, it's one of the things I love about this site is people share such intimate thoughts that mean so much. My Dads been gone about 19 months now, miss him every day. Now I'm in hospitality I would have loved to pour him a beer as pubs were a big part of our life, I'm sure your old man like my old man is looking down from somewhere with a proud smile on their face.

Was a hard year last year losing my Dad and one of my closest friends in OTR (Skeff) but they'd only be happy of they knew we all continued on with life which would make them proud and happy.

Thoughts with you TDK. From the small picture I can paint of you through here I reckon he'd be just fine with how you've boxed on.

You will never lose the memories mate, I often hear a song or drive down a road and then "bang", my eyes water up and it's like my dad is there sitting with me, I will never be used of him not being around and all you can do is make him smile down on you from above.

I hope you got through the day in reasonable condition, there are few days on the calendar that will hit you hard.

Good luck with it all and great to see you doing well.

Thanks LM, I really appreciate reading this. Every time I listen to a Cold Chisel song (Dads favourite band), in particular Bow River, his favourite song and Flame Trees, his funeral song I can't help but get emotional.

Like every Tuesday before footy training I take my dog for a walk and went to see my mum to make sure she's ok. Since moving I can't help but worry about her, mostly because my brother and sister are lazy and they should be doing a better job of helping her around the house since I moved out. She's been great for me helping me do things in my new home.

Great to hear that you're now FB friends with him :)

Yeah mate, on Feb 9 and June 20 each year I grab a carton of beer, get home from work and belt out "True Blue" a few times and it's like he's having a beer with me, they are emotional days where my family make me feel like a king.

Christmas Day is also hard along with the day after my birthday, he always rang me on the 26th wishing me a Happy Birthday but got mixed up as my brother's is on the 26th, I always just said "who give's a f*** dad, I'm forgotten news to everyone else today, I'm glad you called".

Good on you, my father's passing has made me make greater efforts to see my mum on a regular basis.

Thinking of you TDK, all the best mate!!

September 14 is mum's birthday, and since we lost her 3 years ago my sister and I have started taking that day off and go out for lunch and some reflection time, before pretty much getting ratfaced.

Thinking of you, TDK. He would be bloody proud of your achievements over the past year. Hoping for your sake that you can cap off the footy season with a flag. Your boys are looking the goods!

Saturday 29th July was a mixed bag of emotions for me being my son's 3rd birthday, and first since my wife and I parted ways. Not getting to spend the day with him until Sunday tested my emotions, but thankfully I had a full day at the footy club and a 50th that night to keep my mind active.

Thanks Valleys. Yeah the club as a whole is flying at the moment. Alot of hard work has gone in to make it happen, 10 years of hard work for some of us but we are far from done.

Good luck with your son and your own premiership assault mate.

When you hear Fatman Scoop's Be Faithful on R&B Fridays and he starts chanting "who **** tonight! who **** tonight?" and you realise it probably won't be you.

Dang!

I think the flu would've been too scared to enter our house.
