He had a pretty average year with the bat last year. Woodville South knocked back the opportunity to play A1 last year because they didn't have enough experience to compete, but when I saw them last year they were old bastards and not many of them looked like they wanted to be out there.
Yeah fair enough...
A few coaches announced for A1/A2 sides of late...
Ingle Farm - Gordon Smith Port District FCC - Tracy Sandery Fulham - Tim Hart Walkerville - Sam Turner
James Carson & Chris McLean back at Ingle Farm this season i'm hearing, along with Jarrad Indraratne should greatly improve the Farmers biggest weakness - hitting competitive totals.

Still a few jobs open: Modbury? Unley?
Alex Wood - Captain Coach at MCC this year.
What happened to Duthie? He'd been around modbury for years! Young captain coach will be interesting!

Alex will be fine, he is a dedicated club man and knows the game. I wish him well.
Certainly did his time, someone like that will always be around though.. That's good then, will be good to see how he and the club go.
Any player movements out that way? Modbury might need a player or two after last year..!ingle farm have been big players in the north.
Carson and interesting one for me. I thought he was good mates with Webber, Harvey and other blokes from Port Adelaide. Is he another one to slip through Port Districts fingers?

Yes, he is mates with a few of the boys at Port Districts, but he is also a two time Cricketer of the Year at Ingle Farm, so good on him for being loyal to them. My understanding is that neither of the Webbers will be at Port Districts next year - Chris is coaching at Port Adelaide and Brett has moved interstate.

I heard about Chris Webber but not Brett, another big loss for Districts, have you heard if they have picked up any players? At this stage it might be a short lived stay in A1

Old Iggies have appointed John 'Humpy' Humphris as coach for the season ahead. Boys starting later next month with a number of them tied up with footy!
B3 (10), C1 (10), C2 (9) and C3 (10) all have the ability to merge together back to 12 team comps. So only a net loss of 3 teams overall. Still, shows the continuing trend away from cricket in general, and specifically 2-day cricket.
The sooner the turf bring in the 8 team, 7x2-dayers and 7x1-dayer format in the main comp, the better.
Danny Southern telling Plugga he's fat, I'd like to see that!

Any truth in the rumour that the great man Gavan Carey is thinking of retiring?
Would be a horrible loss to the ATCA and cricket in general..........
