Didnt Thommo play juniors at Ethelton ?

with the last game of the season coming up it would be interesting to see who is playing their last game of footy

word at PHOS is the big sandford has called a day aswell as coach peach ... the new coach will be announced very shortly but he is a past league coach who is still fit enough to play footy ..also they have recruited a player from up north....

also a few players from other div1 and 2 clubs have registered interests in playing for the phantoms... YES the cheque book is ready for a pounding......

this year is just a glitch in the system for PHOS

i heard from a mate that was out at the PNU v Port Distraicts game, that christofis smashed one of the boys with a massive cheap shot elbow behind play and was reported, that sort of crap needs to be stamped out of the game, what a thug! especially doing it behind play i heard a rumour he could be looking at about 4 weeks seeing the lad broke his jaw, what a tool he doesn't deserve to play finals....

FYI Christofis was in the marking contest it was no way a cheap shot. It was right infront of me. The umpire that was there was only going to pay 25m for the hit being late, the wanker umpire in the middle ran down and said he was reported. I hope the PNU guy is ok but it was purely an accident, all it was, was a touch late. Would be disappointed if he got more than one, if any at all. I hear the bloke that got hit just came back from a broken jaw, so it might have just got him in the same spot. Christofis is not a thug if anything he doesnt go hard enough at many contests.

A touch late? It was right in front of me too and was more than a touch late 1 eyed. It may have been accidental but a lift of the elbow well after the mark was taken is still a reportable offence none the less. I don't think Christofis is a thug either, and given his given his good record, hope he can take part in finals help win the flag that Port deserve to win. Cheesy just came back from surgery for a depressed cheekbone, he would have to win an award for the amount of head injuries he has had this year, 4 cuts to the head, 1 cheekbone and now this!
Don't play games with a girl who can play 'em better...

Agreed Falcon Chick I was at this game and from my vantage point this was certainly a bit more than accident. Christofis clearly had no thought process of going for the ball and a raised elbow to the jaw was very very bad. The lad broke his jaw which also I believe needs to be taken in to consideration at the tribunal. If the league is serious about stamping this type of stuff out of the game surely a severe penalty should be handed out.

I think this all very timely as on Wednesday night a Payneham player is facing charges of striking Matt Jolly behind the play and breaking his eye socket.

This may end up in court for damages.
