Some of the top teams appear to have identified themselves in the 5th round but the highlight of the win was the classic contest between Buddy Franklin and Hondo. Hondo are the leading team in scoring in the entire Hogg so far this year (both teams have knocked off Daisy) and they scored an impressive 2171 in a week where many coaches were struggling to collect 2000. But this wasn't enough to stop the league leaders as Buddy Franklin the SuperCoach side went as well as Buddy Franklin the player did at the SCG. Buddy booted an amazing 2274 to beat Hondo's excellent score by over a hundred. Buddy is looking to be the first Division I premier to win the Hogg Premier League the next season.
Delicious is another side who look the real deal as they disposed of a disappointing Poon Army. Captain Who smashed the REBCats with a 2158 which was more than enough to contain a side with underperforming rookies on the field while Toby Greene looked on from the bench. The SHARKS also hit back hard in yet another high quality match as they defeated an unlucky Eckys Fevolas who managed 2152 as a losing score.
Possibly the smallest winner was the biggest this week. Bens Rolfsburgers somehow managed to preserve that enviable win loss record despite only carding 1938 in an unimpressive eight point win over a Q Before You who have clearly been cursed this season. A couple of other teams also look to be in bother. The Underdogs are having their worst SuperCoach season ever and their team is a real mess at the moment. Sharksta racked up a second straight sub 1800 which enabled Richo Richo to get back on the winning list. Les's Men also took a fair hit as the mighty Pool Swimmers racked up an impressive 2184 which gave them a huge percentage boost.
If you can win scoring low, I'd take that over losing high. Hondo is number one in scoring but the premiership table doesn't look quite as rosy. Still, on current form, Buddy Franklin appears to have us all covered by some distance, but we thought that about Adelaide last week.
