Nice to get a win on the board after a tough start to the year. Looks to be a reasonably even competition this year with gumeracha certainly improving.

Round 6

Birdwood Vs Ironbank - Should be a good game this one with both wanting and fighting for a top 5 finish. I see this being a very close contest and see Birdwood winning just by a goal at home.
Gumeracha Vs Meadows - Gums seem to be gelling together and have a solid midfield plus the big full forward. If Meadows was to win their share of the contest around the ground and stop Mumford then this may be another close one if not I see the Home team Gums getting up by a few goals.
Kersbrook Vs Bridgwater - Another great contest here should be interesting to see where Kersbrook are this year if they can challenge the top 2. I'm picking Bridgewater by 3 goals.
Nairne Vs Macclesfield - I would say this one has the potential to be a blow out, Nairne by 10 goals plus.

Agree with those tips above!!!
Except, I am going for a slight roughy in the brokers over bridgey. Can't tell you why, just a feeling!
Gum are flying, it's great for the comp to have the teams that have struggled back near the top and competing.
Maccy have had a few indifferent results so who knows what they will turn up with at nairne today.
Saying that I don't think nairne have started too well. Which you can take as a good thing I guess, they have still won all games bad one against the other pace setters, so if today is the day they fire, look out Macclesfield!

Good to see a more even comp, love it!

Round 7 -

Bridgewater Vs Gumeracha - Gums are up and about with 3 good wins in 3 weeks, this week will be a test, I see it being closer than expected but still see Bridgewater being too good in this one and expect them to get up by about 5 goals.
Macclesfield Vs Kangarilla - Another good contest here, however I think Macclesfield have a bit more class about them and see them getting up by about 5 goals.
Meadows Vs Birdwood - Birdwood just sitting in the 5 would want to win this one to stay in contact with the top teams. Should get home here and get up by around 5 goals.
Ironbank Vs Nairne - I think Nairne will enjoy a win here and could by 5 to 10 goals.

Ironbank have never beaten Nairne in the A grade. When Ironbank first started playing in A grade in Div 2, Nairne were a top side and Ironbank struggled. Until now had always been in different divisions. When Ironbank won the 2 Div 2 flags, Nairne had gone up to Div 1, then when Ironbank went up, Nairne came back down.

Hopefully the weather holds up and should see some good hills footy in Div 2 this weekend, Div 1 aren't playing due to interleague.

Feels good to get the 1st win under the belt a pretty physical game against maccy we had no bench after half time and were really struggling late on with fatigue glad to hold on and win..

Much more of an even comp this year haven't seen too many 20goal floggings its good to see we havent played iron bank or Nairne yet but the brookers are the best team we have played .. Gums have a serious side but may struggle if they get a few injuries with their depth.. Bridgey struggled early against us but a 2nd qtr onslaught was the difference in the game .I reckon birdwood to miss finals if gums stay healthy they seem to have dropped off a bit..

I'd have to say you would normally consider 71 points a flogging, but compared to 164 points, its a close game!

Nice to see a balanced, even draw this season. Macclesfield plays every game against a team coming off a bye. Fully rested and an extra week to get any injured players up. How can this possibly be considered fair? Would love to hear this justified by somebody involved in the leagues management. I'm not suggesting this is the main reason behind the seasons results but it certainly doesn't help. It's not like the smaller clubs need any more extra hurdles to being competitive.
