Two different issues were discussing here mate.

#1 is an unsubstantiated rumor that has been doing the rounds, reportedly, for several weeks. If it bullshit, then it's bullshit.

#2 is a moron on the football field mouthing off about #1.

I've also heard ( and like any rumor, probably rubbish ) that Murphy fired the first verbal at Carlile for his Snapchat where he's snorting a line and Carlile, who clearly isn't that clever ( see Snapchat evidence ) fired back.

Call it blind faith if you like, but I reckon we'll beat the Bulldogs this Friday. If we drop the next three at home it's season over stuff as we have an excellent recent (as opposed to 2007-2011 glory days) record against all three clubs, regardless of venue. We are no chance in Perth. You can't beat the Eagles and the umpires, not even Jelwood can do that.

That was a classic, I don't find it that offensive if you are implying that you are taking the responsibility for the sledge, involving outside parties is a different kettle of fish IMO, just a moral thing.

Apparently it's clear to Murphy and Carey that the latter wasn't banging the former's wife too.

I don't really have much of an opinion about sledging, other than wishing it would all stay on the field. No sledging kids, sick relatives, or racially vilifying someone is about it for me.

Most reports intimate that Murphy started the sledging with Carlisle (cokehead type stuff), then Carlisle gave it back but his went too far, apparently.

Jamie kept fanging it out and we were working our arses off when Geoff went over to Jamie and said "If you keep putting this machine on flat out I'm taking tomorrow night off work and going to go to your house and f*** the arse off your missus".

FFS - a bloke's missus has been a sledger's number 1 target on the footy field since day dot.
If none of it was true, there's not too much to worry about I would've thought.
