LOL, funny enough, I rarely log in from home, I hate computers when I'm not at work.

Question: Am I able to claim part of my phone bill on tax because of this?
Absolutely. You work out the % of your monthly bill that is used by your work and x 12. I claim around 20% of our monthly $100 ( or so ) for work related matters.
I'll only claim for my wifi, my package includes 2 mobiles, a landline, wifi and foxtel x2.
There really is no way of proving how much time I spend on my work laptop at home is there? I have four other laptops at home aswell that all get a fair workout.

May aswell claim the whole wifi component. Roughly $1200 per annum.

See, that's when the ATO might go "Bullshit, you only use your wi-fi work work purposes and no personal use?"

But I need the wifi for work, perhaps the kids may take advantage of it without my knowledge.
I'll ask around at work what they do.

Can you claim a goat under the "farm animal" category?
Just asking... for, um, a friend. Yeah, a friend.

Technically you're meant to do a 4 week log of your usage each year.
https://www.ato.gov.au/Individuals/Inco ... -expenses/
"If you have a bundled plan, you need to identify your work use for each service over a 4-week representative period during the income year. This will allow you to determine your pattern of work use which can then be applied to the full year.
A reasonable basis to work out your work related use could include:
Internet:
•the amount of data downloaded for work as a percentage of the total data downloaded by all members of your household
•any additional costs incurred as a result of your work-related use – for example, if your work-related use results in you exceeding your monthly cap."
