I agree, I don't see them or Melbourne making big headway into the 8. Melbourne more likely, but I don't see either of them going from 12 (Sts ) and 10 ( Melb) wins last year to 15 or 16 this year.

I think one of Saints or Melbourne will take Norths spot in the 8. Think the other 7 from last year will remain in the 8

They may well, I think West Coast are vulnerable too. They were 12-6 and won the last 4 to go from 8th to 6th, no Natanui all year and no Lycett until mid year. I think they're likely to slip, a little.

I think at best St Kilda could push in with Port and Melbourne just behind.

With the Eagles home ground umpiring they should win enough over there to scrape in the 8

Plus the Eagles look to have a favourable draw.

15 wins for a 7th placed side last year is pretty unusual. Melbourne or St Kilda dont need to get to that level, 13 is usually enough to make the 8 or be there abouts

The teams around melbourne and st kilda are North Melb, Port, Collingwood and Richmond

Pretty easy to see why teams are talking them up as possible finalists

Crows will miss the 8 along with West Coast, in comes Melbourne and Gold Coast/Port (who ever wins the China game). Have a feeling North will hang on and be a better "team" without Harvey and Petrie.

Me, I couldn't care less whether it starts at 2:30 or 4:30, what difference will it really make?

As it is I'm usually half cut by time I get to the ground, another 2 hours drinking time makes it a long day[emoji3]

If that's the only reason ( which it seems to be for many people ) then twilight it is for mine.

The trouble is it's not really twilight at that time. 4:30 is a really crap time.
Still light to about 6:30-6:45 in Melbourne that time of year and the sun would blind a large part of the crowd. Either has to be Day or night but for me nothing beats Saturday arvo footy and there is just something about playing with the red ball

Totally agree. Saturday Arvo is best and red ball over yellow ball any day. Always thought the game was the focus of the day, not the entertainment around it but I'm a traditionalist. Twilight / Night game is just a money grab they'll spend the rest of this year and into next summer convincing us twilight will be the way to go.
