It was a comment "expecting" a bail out from the SANFL.
In 2003 North were in a worse position financially than Glenelg, there were no SANFL bail outs the club was on it's knees and unbelievably close to just closing it's doors. The league (and other clubs) were prepared to sit back and watch the Roosters die.
With a financial guarantor, the NAFC went into further debt, developed Grand North, purchased the Northern Tavern lease, the rest is history, they still owe plenty but it is being serviced and is reducing every year by a substantial amount.
My comment was suggesting for them to genuinely survive, Glenelg need to do it on their own, even the fundraiser happening atm isn't sustainable, supporters aren't going to put their hands in their pockets year in year out to keep the club afloat, they have to develop a sound business plan that will support the football operations or they may as well close the doors and walk away now
Sorry, that may sound harsh but it is reality.
