Even though United were the Tigers and have no relationship with the Magic for this heritage round they're going to be wearing Magic singlets for their home game against Cairns on Friday night.

Any reason why they are going that way? why are they trying to totally eradicate the old tigers history?

In Melbourne supposedly growing up playing junior basketball you're either a Tigers person or you hate them that's pretty much how the Melb basketball community is split.

When Larry Kestelman became co-owner of the Tigers as they were the only team in Melb at the time and the continuous talk of getting a 2nd Melb team back in he did something pretty smart really re-branded the Tigers as United, most Tigers fans would probably keep supporting United knowing they're really the Tigers (the Gaze family turned their backs on them) and it would make it easier for all non-Tigers basketball fans to support United but also making it extremely difficult for anyone to get a 2nd team back up again in Melb.

It's not so much United are trying to erase the history of the Tigers but they want people to think they're the team for everyone in Melbourne which is probably the reason behind wearing Magic uniforms at home this Saturday.

Half-time

Good fightback in the second half of that quarter.
