Siddle having back scans now. Any chance any of our bowlers can play 2 tests in a row these days?

They stuffed around Burns after the India series 2 years ago by not taking him to the Ashes, then stuffed around Bancroft by picking him at exactly the right time for the Bangladesh series, but then left him out of last years summer, ironically for Burns. Bancroft has generally been average since.

All the while Mitch Marsh has had a free pass.

Yep it's all different rules for different people when it comes to team selection.

We were bananas for picking him in the first place. Gun Barrel Straight at 130. Time to move on. Same with Voges. Pick some young players instead of the same guys who have been in how many batting collapses now?

It could be time for me to get a life.

Geelong - stuffed
Aussie Cricket Team - beyond stuffed
Norwood - even worse
Villa - relegated
Adelaide United - even worse than Norwood
Sydney Roosters - rooted
Wallabies - a joke

At least I've got the mighty NSW Bluebaggers...just get in the final against the Jellybacks and the Shield is ours.

I didn't realise it was now so full on until listening to the radio today. For an average period of a year in all 3 formats, there needs to be at least 6 of the 11 players non-white and 2 of those must be black African.

I guess if it gets the majority of the population involved in professional sport (it's for other sports too) it will be a good in the long term, but too bad if that white guy is best XI but can't get picked because of the colour of his skin.

Or they can go back to having an apartheid regime and miss the next twenty years of test cricket. Either that or learn how Israel gets away with it.

I hope so.

But would anyone be overly surprised if a Redback got shafted?

Not at all. But the way I see it, it helps SA though by keeping them in Redbacks side.

Anyone see the CA headline the other day after the Redbacks won? It was something like "Sayers sends Selectors message.. Bird sends even bigger message"

Probably tongue in cheek at him making 39 in second innings after being told to work on his batting..
If you can keep your head when all around you have lost theirs, then you probably haven't understood the seriousness of the situation.

We need an extra batsman in the side, that means we can get Mitch Marsh out and pick 4 bowlers and then someone has to chip in with some overs. Problem with that is Nevill stays at 7 and he's not a Test match #7. He needs to be at 8, but none of the bowlers can get in front of him at 7. With Maddinson and Head in the side you could get some overs out of both of them.

Starc
Hazlewood
Sayers
Lyon
Maddinson / Head

6 batters, 4 bowlers, 2 batsman who can get through some overs. We have no all rounders to play at 6 so someone in the top order has to chuck down a few from time to time.

Boon I reckon Neville is a more than handy test batsman but his issue is with his technique as a bloke who grafts out innings he won't make many runs unless the tail sticks around with him. Compare him to Haddin & Wade who could go the tonk if need be & add an extra 20 runs before the tail fell.

He needs to either learn to be more attacking or god forbid they pick Mitch Marsh again swap them in the order. Gives Nev more time to graft an innings & let's Mitch go the hit with the tail, roles which suit each of their styles better.

On the ABC coverage they were talking about fast bowlers and fitness in regards to a Aussie bowler (insert mental blank) playing for QLD who wanted to bowl but wasn't allowed too.
They then mentioned in particular Wasim Akram And waqar Younis along with the Windies' bowlers and how the only fitness they did was to keep bowling.....

And they say sports science is progress

Too right, the bowling coach at my club is an ex First Class bowler from the 70's and he foams at the mouth in rage with the modern way of life for fast bowlers these days.

Nevill can be attacking but the trouble is for most of his test career he has been either trying to save the game or steady the ship after a middle order collapse. Would be nice to see him have the luxury of coming in at 5/400
