I'm ok with this, we need picks in the draft this year and with none of our fringe players attractive to other clubs we had to trade to get picks high in the draft.

But you give up a potential top 10 pick from next year.

Well we have right now, but who is to say we don't trade one back in during next years period?

This year - 3 in the top 30 to top up
Next year - Maybe give up a couple of second rounders for a 1st rounder

When Wines leaves next year, you will get a first Rounder for him.

Wines is contracted until the end of '18, so if and I mean IF he chooses to ask for a trade home we'll be after more than a 1st rounder for him.

Mind you, I expect him to be our captain in 2018 as Boak will be turning 30 mid-'18 and Wines will be ready to assume the mantle.

I think Hinkley will get the bullet by the end of next season, Wines will become the new skipper and Boak will go to back to Victoria. Add Boak and your 2nd Rounder and you will get your first rounder back. Good replacement for either Hodge or Burgoyne at Hawks.

So essentially Port have given up 2 first rounders for Dixon after stating they wouldnt.

Interesting play.

Looks as if they had no other option with Hartlett Lobbe and Ahchee not being traded according to this article.

I know as if anyone would get so PRECIOUS about afl crowds.

IM sure it wont get anyones nose (NO MATTER THE SIZE) out of joint again this year. :-)

Do I dare ask whats your opinion on if Port will report a profit this year ???

Anyway back to Ports aggressive trade period...................................

This obsession you have with Port Adelaide - it's unhealthy and a bit sad really.
I really think you should see a doctor (does anyone bulk bill in Davoren Park?) If so, please get some medication before something really bad happens: like Port winning another flag or attracting 40,000 fans again :(

BWWAHHH!!!!! As if youll be making a GF anytime soon.

Good to see you havent lost your sense of humor Mr Carter. :D

I see Port have locked in Tom Jonas to a 3 year contract extension.
Why?
No one is going to make him an offer interstate.
He'll struggle to make your best 22 next year.

Anyone know who is on long term contracts at Port and how it rates to other clubs?

I'm sure there was some interest but to lock him away for 3 years is crazy.

Obviously Collingwood signing Dunn was all the proof needed that competition was hot
