The Sunday Roast, no longer together and not that big, but were slowly getting there.
The Black Sheep, I believe that they are no longer together.
I knew people from both bands.

Hey dunc7 is the former "Counterfit" from the early to mid eightees and used to play at the Glenelg Beachgirl competition as well as McMahons at Salisbury (now Eureka) and others? They were great I remember their original "Who's Talking" i reckon their band members were Freddie, Doobie and lead and bass with Jeff as the drummer... I think these boys were from Henley Beach way are these one and the same?? thanks for your reply when convenient.

No we formed about late 1998, playing RATM, tool, nirvana covers then progressed to original musik.
Members were Wayne F - Vocals, Dunc7 - Bass, Davin - Axeman and Deanna X on drums.
i left in 2000 due to work and they went on to be mildly successful, A red dawn had their newest release mastered in NYC, sounds mad, any metalheads out there check it out.

I recall a rash of cover bands getting around in the 90's- mostly metal acts, covering Slayer, Sepultura, Pantera etc, all had "lame" names (ie Slaves of Pain etc... my memory is failing me). When these bands toured, it was considered the done thing to have the cover band play afterwards at The Venue/Cartoons. I'm glad this trend didn't last, a lot more respect for those that play original music- mind you, a trend for a while (maybe everyone does it), is to cover obscure songs, advertise yourself as original (with a few originals) & voila- you have a semi-decent set list.

I sold my bass a few years back, i just had a Fender American precision w/standard get up running through a PA (Yamaha EMX860ST) and a few crap FX pedals.
But i havent slapped a bass in anger in about 4 years, i take my energy out on my standard Pearl Export kit.
I just sort of grew out of wanting to be rockin out in a metal band
Kurt Cobains sums it up best 4 me

Two of our current band members, aged 37 and 33 respectively, still have some far fetched image of themselves as staduim rockers cruising around the planet playing to thousands of fans and living a rock star existence.

The other tow member,me,30 and another 40,are alittle more realistic about what our future holds.A few mates birthdays,a pub gig here and there, but mostly beers and jammin' and having a laugh.

It is proving to be difficult, well, they are.

As much as my heart wants to say The Mark of Cain my head says that Mick is on the money here. They don't make songwriters like Mick Bower anymore.
