Talk on the national game

If they've gone purely based on the fact Ebert was bleeding then that's a really poor way to judge it. I've copped a few knocks in the head and the ones that make you bleed can sometimes be the softest hits. There was one time I got opened up, had blood pouring everywhere and I never even felt the contact. Neither did the other bloke for that matter, we were chatting about it later trying to figure out how it even happened.

If though, he's suffered some further symptoms then that is different. I'm not going to read into the language used, I don't think Port aren't stupid enough to embellish a medical report to get Sloane suspended. However, live and even on replays, it doesn't look consistent with something that gets 1 week. I was expecting the 50 to be deemed the correct penalty, perhaps a fine just for the look of it. But definitely been harder hits and hits less in the action of the game that have been let go IMHO.

Agree with you Grahaml, in all honesty it is surprising he got 2 down tl 1 for that. I would have thought the 50m was enough but heck who am I to make an assessment when the glorious overlords of the AFL and MRP have chosen there sacrifice.

They didn't have much choice in that. Unless you had a near watertight case, risking making it two and losing him for a potential/probable qualifying final as well would be just too risky.

Really looking forward to going to this game.
Sloane and most likely Smith out really evens this up.
They had 51 touches between them when we played earlier in the season.

Such an important game. Looking at what the other four of the top five teams have, there is a good possibility we drop out of the top four if we lose this.
I think CEY will come in for Sloane, and if fit, Seedsman for Smith, although his lack of high possession games concerns me as Smiths game is based on a lot of ball. They could surprise and debut Wigg but I doubt it in such an important game.

Still reckon we have enough to get up, at home. Especially with Nic Nat out. He hurts them more than losing sloane hurts us.

West Coast have only lost once this year when NicNat has been out. Hes a gun a sets us up at the stoppage but Lycett has been more than serviceable when being the number 1. May struggle when Lycett isn't on the ball because Eags don't have another option that could go with Jacobs and Jenkins. Will be a ripper game. Shuey, Pridda and Gaff to go head to head with the crouch brothers and Thomo.

That it will be. The crouch brothers both being in great form will hopefully offset the loss of sloane a bit. Weather looks good, if not a little chilly for friday night too. Will be there with bells on. Assuming i can catch the train lol

Sloane was superb over in WA, but I think we've gotten a lot more even since then. No doubt any time you lose your number 1 mid it hurts, but I reckon Adelaide would have the smallest gap between #1 mid and replacement mid in the comp. Ellis-Yolman is someone the opposition need to respect despite being unable to get a regular gig.

Henderson in for Smith IMHO. I think his run and carry will prove more important than Seedsman's kicking.

Crows should ultimately be too good for the Eagles, but as with last week I'm far less confident than the bookies. The media talk seems to be largely assuming Adelaide win, but West Coast are a better side than that.

The Eagles ball movement and pressure over the last 2 weeks has extremely good.
They match up very well over the ground.

I think the Eagles rely heavily on gaff for their outside run, if we can shut him down I think our runners are better
