India well ahead in the 2nd Test

Postby spell_check » Sun Jul 29, 2007 11:20 pm

Tendulkar gone for 91, India 4-347 with a lead of 149. A big surprise to see Simon Taufel make an incorrect decision, costing Tendulkar what looked to be another century to him. And after so many LBW decisions have been turned down in this particular innings, one was given out and it shouldn't have been.

Agree that Tendulker was unlucky but its always risky padding up not playing a shot as u then tend to lose the benefit of the doubt. the ball did nip back a bit but not enough. UNLUCKY.
GANGULY after receiving an Excellent decision in his favour for lbw to a ball that would have knocked middle out of the ground but pitched an inch outside leg early in an over then received a STINKER of a decision 4 balls later by Taufel Given out caught down the leg side to a ball he clearly didn't hit. out for 79.
Pieterson also was unlucky with his LBW dismissel in Englands innings, a Great ball but looked a bit HIGH.

India ALL OUT 481. S.Sreesanth last man out for 2 LBW not playing a shot. again the ball would not have hit the stumps. 3 very Dubious decisions against India so NO EXCUSES for England.
Englands Deficit 283. Despite all the Rain and Floods in England it looks like its Going to be an INDIAN SUMMER.

India's century + opening stand was the best against England in 28 years

The LBW decisions for padding up both clearly would both have missed.
BUT when players use the pad instead of the bat thats poor play and no empathy from me.
TENDULKAR was visibly upset but I dont feel sorry for him, USE THE BAT !!!!!

As for KP his decision was a shocker
When JJ defends KP you know the decision was a poor one

IN looks the goods, only a KP classic 150 will save the poms

KP V INDIA

Did we all see who has run out the most batting partners in Test history ?

How many were his fault???

I wonder how many runouts the Big Ship and Asif Iqbal would have been involved in if they played as many tests as S Waugh....

Statistics don't tell the full story....

Mind you that is a lot though Mal for S Waugh.....
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Consistency :?:
look at these names
HARMISON
JONES
HOGGARD
FLINTOFF

Those 4 names are the guys who bowled the Poms to the ashes victory.
I didnt mention GILES for obvious reasons.

The Indians would shit themselves against that lot

Even without those names mal, the bowling attack should still be able to hit a jelly bean on a good length...

Don't think any batsman that makes it to International level would "sh*t themsleves" at the prospect of facing any of those guys mal. Be honest. Maybe good bowlers but "sh*t themselves"?? You have to be joking. Facing Roberts, Marshall, Garner, Holding, Walsh, Ambrose, Bishop etc. now that would make you sh*t yourself. Christ they might get me out but even i wouldn't be to fussed facing any of those Poms you mentioned. I mean lets be honest Harmison for the last 2 years hasn't been able to hit the side of a barn let alone a batsman.

They (English quartet) are Test class bowlers but they are only famous for one series, really.
