Our blokes are in pretty good nick also, and with the Minor Premiership and Courier Cup on the line, it should be a good game. Wonder if Stringer will make his players do sprints after the game again should they lose??? I know Brett won't.

Don't take much from the result against Maccy. They were severely undermanned with nothing to play for, and with plenty of their blokes not putting themselves up for 'A' grade, to qualify for the 'B' grade finals. I know most Clubs do this with one or two players if they were in the same position, but I seriously reckon Maccy's 'B' grade right now is not far off their 'A' grade in standard.

Yep, Kersbrook certainly far too good and it's not a good result but I don't really know what to say. Certainly had a few players out but you'd hope to do a bit better than that and at quarter time when they 'only' had 5 goals after kicking downhill and with a very slight zephyr, I never thought the end result was possible.
Not that it would have made much difference but I felt that we should have had a forward pocket or flanker filling up the hole in front of R.James. Was a defender or two who started out trying to do it but at the end of the day you've got to show your own opponent respect, especially when those players are Westley, Paues and Brad Pearce who are good players in their own right.

Yeah good on em. It's great they're having a crack, as it gives me a big laugh each week when I open up the Sunday Mail.

..and of course if birdwood came back down kersbrook would be the team guttsy enough to step up? what with the ambundant amount of juniors coming through, i'm sure you guys would really last the distance....
.. and i'd still have to say that its no where near as funny as last years country div grandfinal, 30goal+ flogging, plus watching kersbrook 'men' beat up meadows u/17's. (lets not forget your assistant coach dropping his board to go punch out a 16 yr old) birdwood would rather get flogged everyweek in a decent comp then put up with that kinda feralness.

re: Torrens valley

anyone hear any news after they were rolled by the rams...

Apparently they only kicked one goal after half time and looked very ordinary..how will coach Hughes react??? For the money he is putting out, he deserves better. The word is none of the As train each week and my source said there disposal was pitiful and they had no gameplan..relied on individuals who seemed disinterested.

where do i start.. probably with embarrased & humiliated.

1- Red Cards
J Summerill - umpire informed Snowden that he was unlucky to get reported
M Nieuwenhuizen - didn't see the hit, but my understading was that he was hit first
and red card vs Loby, i've been told he was given a 2 match suspended sentance as it was seen as a provoked attack as his nuts squeezed and left swollen and busied (i'm sure anyone else in that postion would have done the same).

1 - Scoreboard
well done to Ironbank a quality outfit, good luck for the finals. the loss i know hurt alot of players, but i think a few others couldn't care less.
(how many ironbank A Grade players got a game without at least training once?), i think we had about 6, who didn't show their face at least once & only 9 B Graders that trained once. unfortunatly we aren't gonna go anywhere without more commitment on the track (not making excuses we were pathetic)

3- J Snowden
if that is true, then that is not acceptable firstly for not inviting players & supporters back to the club and secondly not going back up there straight away himself.

thank you to the ironbank ppl who did anyway

j. summeril lucky haha that is a ridiculous comment! we watched the incident which was caught on video back in our club rooms after the game!

let me tell you, that was a planned attack and he came sprinting from 10 -20metres away to throw a closed fist clothesline, if that is lucky to be reported i would be more than happy to burn the Big O and his men in Orange a copy of the incident for the tribunal! J. summeril is a dud footballer and would be lucky to make lofty's, uraidla's ironbanks or onkas' C grade!

Hardly think an umpire should be commenting on a report before the official review and should come under scrutiny for doing so! Bridgy can now go to the tribunal and say the ump even said he was unlucky to get reported! How is that fair when one of the competitions Best and cleanest young players was targeted simply due to his ability? Dog act, but then again can't expect much from a club like that can we!

how can it even be suggested bridgewater go down a div when lobethal have lost to us twice in A gradeand our u17's are performing so strongly. The attitude toward training at the club must change.... now however!! As for ron saying he hopes summerill "gets what's coming to him" i'd advise you to keep your thoughts to yourself unless you actually saw the game/incident.

Toad17, this is why I never liked Birdwood, when u had peanuts like this bloke writing stuff that he has no idea about (Assistant Coach punching a kid at the GF.....WTF??). Ah yes Rooster, I'd rather make a GF, than go thru a whole season without winning a game. And don't get me started on your successful GF record (3 in a row!). We've been up before Rooster, and we put up a helluva lot better effort than what you chumps have served up.

our 17's the strongest since 2000 or 2001, and have more on the track then the A's & B's combined on tuesday nights. 10-14 will come up next year and with their training committment, hopefully will turn the trend in that respect for us next year. but Shanty Lad your right we need it to change now.

Any truth in the rumour that Gumeracha finished with 15 players on the ground against Kangarilla?? Might partly explain the scorecard.

i was at meeting for meadows to go to central? what a farce political campain! some people who voted (life members) wouldnt even know what to vote got told what to vote for, didnt even know we had played kangy that week. plenty of interest to go up from a fair few senior players & alot of colts (our future a grade) but the club has decided not to take that step & challenge its self by playing up its happy with junior teams winning by big margins (or if playing at all) so here we are in country div for how long?? thats if their will be country div in a few years, might even loose some big name players & some really talented juniors to a better div

Pull your head in Alice - if you were at the game you too would agree the umpiring was disgraceful. It was the worst umpiring display I have EVER seen in the Hills. I can accept umpires making mistakes during a game but not to the extent they did on Saturday. Unfortunately we don't have enough umpires but if we did they would be dropped from A grade next week.
We even had a young up-and-coming umpire from our club who is now at the SANFL and he couldn't believe how bad it was!!

the reference "gets whats coming to him" relates to just that. if what the umpire said is true than he will get of n so he should. if the video footage shows different than he will get what is coming to him with a suspension. my thoughts could be taken in 2 ways. hopefully for his sake the umpires comments are the real story.

ok no dramas ron, took it that way due to the prior comment of you not being surprised about the incident taking place. the player in question is one of the few who make it to training when available and those sticking around and putting in a bit of effort to keep the club going deserve praise despite some of the less than pleasing results.

spasmodic is the way to describe the training and input of our recruits. Due to a large number of them being police officers and living long distances from bridgewater this is sometimes unavoidable however. kluzek is excellent when he is on the track as far as voice and advising younger players goes. We would rarely have recruits train 2 nights but they are definitely not alone (including myself a bit too often)

GTS - with regards to training the recuits do not train both nights, which impresses the few locals that do.

Kluzek - attends presentations every saturday night (when not working) and i believe he has taken the snr colts for a training session or 2.

is there any penalty for not training both nights at lofty????, i'm sure if we were winning a few more games we'd get more people out.
