Why? Are you suggesting having another game like they did today impacted the attendance? Doesn't sound like it did and Centrals got probably their best crowd for some time as well.

Brilliant attendance at Noarlunga though - they could be finally on the brink of cracking that Southern market.

It was like a Glenelg home game crowd wise again in my opinion. South still don't have many fans.
What utter crap comment !!! There were heaps of us South supporters there !!

Probably fairly even in supporters .
Even ? Where do they go through the year ? I know local footy but all clubs have that issue. A lot of neutrals .

Great crowd and atmosphere here at Elizabeth, as well...

I'd guess close to 3K for the crowd and a triple figure win for the Dogs...

I wouldn't say 3k is a great crowd.

There was 7817 there, it was a great crowd. 100 metre lineups to get in prior to the game.
Think we got less than 2k there last year when we were a better side!
Good Friday footy is a winner. I didn't have to be Nostradamus to work that out when I've been pushing for it for the last 20+ years though.

Really?

Couldn't make it due to family commitments and had no means of recording the match, so any thoughts on the game would be appreciated. Hopefully it is streamed somewhere during the week.

Usual suspects seemed to get plenty of it according to the stats. Hitchcock looked like he was busy, Barnes a solid debut also. Scoreless last term a bit of a concern.

I agree . Do they leave it against Glenelg or rotate it . If Glenelg are up there they will draw a bigger crowd. I think just let these two clubs as they both agree to it.

Yeah for me it's a bit like the AFL ANZAC Day argument. Only two clubs wanted to play on the day, let them have it

Not necessarily true Jim. AFL ANZAC day got promoted well, by Essendon in particular. I wouldn't say they were the only two who wanted ot though, Sheedy just saw a good opportunity and made it work.

In 1991 there were 2 AFL games on Anzac Day, in 1992 there were 3, 3 in '93 and one in '94 so I don't think you can say that only Essendon and Collingwood wanted to play...

Quite remarkable.

Not sure how realistic the figure is in the Austadiums link below, or how much it is modified the car-viewing arrangement, but the capacity of Noarlunga is supposed to be around 12,000 with around 1000 of those seated.

9400 would represent close to 80% capacity.

Not only is 2016's quoted figure greater than the sum of the last two Easter Friday games combined (5221 at Glenelg last year, 3984 at Noarlunga in 2014), it more than doubles the previous Noarlunga crowd of 4530 of Easter Friday, 2013.

Would love to see some images of the quoted 2016 attendance, must have been quite a sight.

The attendance was actually just under 4K. Still a great crowd considering it was live on TV

SANFL have tweeted the crowd figures from today- 3859 @ Noarlunga and 4544 @ Elizabeth. Most feasible than the 9400 figure.

Perhaps the electronic scanners were playing up ;)

I was at the first game ever at Noarlunga when the crowd was a mite over 10 thousand. Based on my memory of that day I would suggest that today's crowd was closer to 5 thousand than 9.

Yeah, 1995.

I should have said "Noarlunga Easter Friday" record.

It was a great crowd; no question. But 5 seems more realistic though it can be hard to tell at Noarlunga. Great to see a crowd like that there whatever the actual number and I hear Jimmy Dean's was packed after the game which is also great for South. It's a shame they can't get bigger crowds consistently, but Noarlunga sure is a place for diehards on a cold Winter day.

Yes the scanning at Elizabeth did not work mine and others.
Typical SANFL,nothing works properly,
Their footy program with 5 byes in 6 months of footy.
Live computer coverage last night at Norwood a disaster.
No radio AM coverage,
Couldn't find FM today, sorry if it was available.
Season tickets late mailing.
No results on their SANFL site today for reserves results.
No wonder the SANFL is in decline.
More volunteers required perhaps.
