As we saw last season with Ports fraw they actually got through the first 5 rounds which were the toughest at 3-2. Where the season fell away was when they last to us at AO and then Brisbane and Cartlon away.
So really while you can have a tough start, even if you get through it you need to be mindful of how much energy you spend on doing it.

Something else to factor in is that what looks easy in March might not look easy in August. Also, plenty of mid table teams trip up in 'winnable' games like Geelong against Melbourne and Port against Brisbane.
