I thought we paced our chase reasonably well for most of the day - we just failed to find that next gear after the tea break.
Also think, looking back perhaps we weren't so good in our chase - we played looked to see off Clarke and Uern, but unfortunately they bowled almost exclusively all day (26 overs each), and we didn't get that opportunity to face the change bowlers and attack them. Credit to Rose Park, they didn't give our batsmen many loose ones all day, and the ones we did get we couldn't put away or got us out (think two wickets to attempted pull shots).
Losing me at the start of the day and Hancock cheaply hurt as well, lost two players capable of keeping the score ticking over, and even more with Hancock because when we did need to start lifting he was already in the sheds.
Think we also shot ourselves in the foot by batting Brasser and Mansueto together - especially after Mead batting so long - we should've sent Feltus in earlier to give him more time and opportunity to get into his innings, and reserved Mansueto to replace Brasser when he got out. As a result, the Brasser/Mansueto partnership saw the run rate creep up to 6 rpo.. poor kid works hard but it's either a boundary or nothing - not many singles on offer.
Well done to Rose Park, better side overall, and will be hard to beat in the GF.. we probably did well to only be chasing 150 and not 250-300 week one.
