Yeah good call.

Tim Lane maybe? David Wildy? Do we really have to plumb the depths of radio to find a caller that everyone doesnt hate?

Bruce used to be that guy but he hasn't been great in the past few years. Though having said that I think he is much better on the tennis these days than the footy

Might do that myself, save the bloody Mrs doing it all the time.

Tim Lane is pretty good. I'd have my money on him for least offensive caller (which would be like winning a tallest jockey competition). He was actually a good cricket caller too, like Cometti.

Dan Lonergan on the ABC is one of the better callers IMO. Has a face for radio.

Peter Donegan on the "AFL live" radio network (simulcast by the Murray Bridge station 5MU) is excellent. No ego with those two guys.

I agree that 90% of the football 'personalities/callers' grate rather quickly.

Brenton Yates. Calls it as is happening, not trying to predict the outcome
Matty Wade is a star and deserves more respect from the forum family!

Commentators today are worse than AFL umpires in making them selves bigger than the game. Only 1 bloke could go over the top and carry on like a dickhead and get away with it and that was Rex Hunt!

On this, Drew Morphett was a great footy caller but one of my favourites on grandstand cricket.
Whateley, for mine, is brilliant at calling footy but I haven't warmed to his cricket commentary just yet. He is very good on abc when they cross to him at the races during spring carnival
