He wasn't too interested in Ports approach. Move interstate for one year, be back up to Lobbe, all he has to compete with there is McKern...hahaha...sorry, McKerna ahahahahahaha...right, got it now, McKernan.

Plus the fact he is getting paid to coach the rucks at Essendon and will still do this whilst playing. We won't be seeing McKernan in the ruck this year hopefully

Well you have Leuy and Jamar both known for there injuries unfortunately. I woulf say if Leuy can hold the ruck on his own you will be better for it. If Mckernan is your go to man then it will get ugly eveb more so.

Luey has a inflamed Achilles and won't resume training for a couple of weeks but by all reports the rest of his body isn't in bad nick touch wood. Jamar has been training well and I'd rather us put some time into young Nyoun rather than McKernan

Reckon they will try and blood as many youngsters as possible, but if you are getting spanked by 20 goals every week, i dont think that helps. So even if Jamar only plays every second or third game, just to give the kids a rest, that could be a good thing. The last thing you would want is Luey going down and having mckernan and draftees/rookie listed players having to go a whole season by themselves

Im not sure how big affect that has, case in point being the GWS.

This could be seen as a great opportunity for Essendon to literally trial a bunch of kids they may potentially look to draft or keep on their list (presuming some players may retire, refuse to play for Essendon etc etc when their suspensions are up.

I doubt the AFL would be to happy though if they didn't pick up some experienced players to at least make themselves as instantly competitive as possible.

I reckon they might get dibs on these players.

I think the Essendon drama is far from over when it comes to players returning.

I have no doubt there will be a few players (especially the ones taking action against Essendon) who will simply refuse to play for them once their suspension is up.

There may also be a retirement or two over the next couple of seasons with players like Watson, Fletcher etc and i think the AFL would rather them keep their top up players to replace them than give them extra draft picks.

They don't have to play for us once their suspension is up. All will be delisted free agents. I have no doubt many will leave

Surely though the AFL wont give extra draft picks to the bombers to replace the suspended players who dont come back. I reckon they will be able to keep their replacement to replace the list place of a non returning suspended player.

If they have to draft an unusually high amount of players next year then they can. They dont get concessions, they just get picks when their turn comes around again. For instance they may get picks 100-110 if nobody else is still picking then and they need extra players. All their top up players will still be available then if they really wish to draft them again

Think that is what will happen. Has been talk that we would get up to a dozen picks at the end of the draft. The AFL also hasn't ruled out us getting compensation picks at this stage for players.

Wouldn't think so especially if a few of them have good full seasons.

The AFL will want Essendon to be competitive again ASAP and from what i have read i honestly believe the AFL is protecting Essendon slightly and believe that WADA has over punished them.

If they lose every week by 10 plus goals there is no way the AFL will risk them losing their good 'top up players' to be replaced with pick 100 plus and stranded at the bottom for many more years.

The AFL is now all about getting Essendon back ASAP therefore protecting the business interests of the AFL.

Most of the 34 now appealing, will be another 6 months atleast before it's heard and players will remain suspended. Our insurer is footing the bill for the court action

Agree there well within their rights

I'm just thinking this shit is never gonna end, it's all going to spark up again when the suspended players are set to return and all the dramas that will bring with players refusing to etc etc

Do all the suspended players have an unconditional right to return to Essendon if they want to

Can Essendon delist some of the suspended players at the end of the year
