Not taking the piss at all. Baseball does not interest me in the slightest but your career tale is interesting, for some reason.
Like how you went to arbitration and landed a sweet deal haha. You need an off-field scandal just to spice things up more.

They do need off field stuff like Fifa used to have. I don't think the real life league would allow it these days.

I remember on Fifa I managed Dijon and one of the strikers got suspended for being caught naked in the hallway of the hotel. I think it was on Fifa 06 or 07.

The RTTS mode on MLB also doesn't have a transaction tracker, so you really have to keep an eye on trades, drafted players, etc. It makes it a lot more difficult that there's the MLB, AAA and AA leagues all trading players half the year.

Big things happening for my pitcher of late.

I kept my rotation spot at number two once the the injured players came back. Chad Billingsly was in good form before the injury, but came back as a relief pitcher to ease himself back into it.

I was pitching ok. I was giving up more hits than usual, but was still getting the win, because the Phillies have better batters than last season when we finished 32nd overall.

Billingsly was closing out games, and getting the "win" more often than not (he was coming in during games I didnt pitch in as well), and the Phillies needed a better left fielder. I'd just pitched a full game shutout (5th of my 5 season career) when all of a sudden, during the All-Star game break, I was traded to the Texas Rangers. They sent a decent left fielder for me.

Pretty shocking due to the form I was in.

My first game as a Ranger was in Seattle against the Mariners and the second was in Arlington against the Athletics.

I can't remember which one (it was about 12:30am this morning) but I pitched a shutout with 13 strikeouts in one of those games.

The Rangers are a much better hitting team than the Phillies, so most games we're getting at least 5 runs on the board, which eases the pressure on me to pitch shutouts. They also run a "designated hitter" line up, so I don't have to hit. Its usually an easy out for them because my training points are always used to boost my pitching attributes.

Prince Fielder is great to have at No. 3 in the line up. The first game he hit two homers, 4 RBIs. It was early in the game too, so the other team was swinging at everything trying to catch up. Makes it much easier to get guys out if they're swinging at anything that starts in the zone. I've got a mean curve ball and an even meaner knuckle ball.

Traded! Far out. I'd have spiraled into a dangerous cycle of substance abuse after that.

16s out soon.

You can continue your 15 guy on 16, but i reckon ill start a new one.

Im terrible at batting, so ill probably stick with pitching.

I might jack the difficulty up in 16 and try to make it to The Show. Probably bounce around AA teams my whole career.

I prefer hitting in rtts but they changed the running between base mechanics in the 15 version, which annoy me a bit.. But I do enjoy pitching as the seasons go quicker and easier to develop your player.

Do you have to order it from OS? I've never seen a baseball game at the shops before?

I bought 15 on the PS Store and downloaded it.

I havent seen it in shops.

Same as NHL. I downloaded that too. Much easier than hunting around for it.

And the added bonus of not having to change discs.

I think i got MLB for about $60. Usually the PS Store is more expensive than JBs, but i usually buy games online when theyre discounted. If you keep an eye on the store, you can pick up some bargains.

I'd wait for the new one if I didnt have one yet. The current one is still $67 and the new ones not far away.

Anyway, I started a new RTTS as a batter/left fielder, and couldn't really get invested in it, like I did with my pitcher. I'm that shit at batting that I only got two hits in the Showcase, and ended up being drafted by the Detroit Tigers with the 25th pick of the 5th round.

I signed with the team, instead of choosing to go back to college, and was put in their AA side, the Erie Seawolves. Their logo and uniform are pretty good, so I was happy with that.

In the first game, I went 2-4 with a double and a single. I played that game, then loaded up my pitchers save. I'm really invested in that game.

Only played the one game, at Kansas City. I pitched 7 innings, for 6 hits, 2 runs, and 10 strike outs. Prince Fielder didn't play, so our batting was a bit shit, until we put up 3 runs in the 5th.

Ended up winning 5-2, and I got the win.

So far with the Texas Rangers, since the trade, I haven't lost a game. I've pitched in 4 games, got 3 wins and one game I pitched a shutout for 8 innings, but the closer got the win for some reason. The Rangers are now second in our division, drawn on wins with the Astros, but we have two more losses, with two extra games played.

MLB 15 The Show

Had another crack at the batters RTTS.

Once I got into the AA season, I started to get more of a hang of batting. I guess what annoyed me was that I wasn't hitting it all the time. But then I realised that its not realistic to smash everything, especially this early in a career.

In Franchise mode, I didn't really get frustrated with guys that couldn't hit......i just traded them. ;)

The biggest difference between being a batter and pitcher, is as a batter, you play most of the games. Not one out of every five like a pitcher does. Having said that, the games do go much quicker, since you're only at the plate between 3 - 5 times, and the fielding's only when the balls gonna come your way. Maybe 5 or 6 hits a game.

I got through 8 games in about two hours. The Erie SeaWolves are languishing at 3-5.

My guys doing ok, with an average over .300 and 2nd in the league in runs. I've only hit the one homer so far.

I reckon I'll be in AAA pretty quickly, but I might jack the difficulty to stay in the minors a bit longer. In my pitching career I was in the majors full time by the 3rd season. I'd like to experience the life of a minor league player, bouncing around teams as trade sweeteners.

Bloodborne

After a long hiatus from this game, I gave it another crack. It is one of the best games I've played in the last few years. The difficulty is a good thing and a bad thing.

Good, because it makes you appreciate achieving something in the game. And bad, because after dying at the same place 10 times, I don't have the patience to go for it on the 11th shot.

Last night I nearly killed the Cleric Beast (first big boss in the whole game) and died just before I knocked him off. So after about 10-15 hours of gameplay, Im still on the first "level".

Dying Light

Borrowed this off my brother and had a crack yesterday. I liked it more than I thought I would, but its still just an "ok" game. The voice actor annoys me because he's the same guy from The Crew, and that story's shithouse.

I think I played for about 2 hours, and it was ok. I don't really feel like I wanna rush home to play it though. I probably wouldn't buy it.
