Out on the town as a 16yr old, a mate came and collected us from the Ambassadors and took us down to Lennies ... Mate was driving an old Toyota Celica which had a CB Radio in it.

When we get to Lennies the boys went in, but I wanted to finish my conversation with some young lady on the Radio so I stayed in the car ... Told my mate I'd lock up and bring his keys with me when I'm done.

10 minutes later I finish the convo and start heading for the entrance, only to realise I'd left my smokes in the car, so I walk back to get them ... Once in the car I start looking for my smokes but to no avail, and then start getting this weird feeling ... It was then that I noticed the car didn't have a CB and my mates keys had actually opened the door to a different Celica.

I pretty much shit myself hoping noone had seen, locked up and took off, eventually finding the right (mates) car, however the keys wouldn't open my mates car now .. WTF? Problem: I'd picked up a different set of keys and locked my mates keys, in the wrong f..king car! :?

As luck would have it, I too owned an old Celica and MY car key managed to open this other wrong car, whereby I exchanged the keys, got back into my mates car and stayed put .. I wasn't risking anything else after that!!

Boys eventually came out telling me how boring my night must have been ...

No, but surely the keys would have opened the car from which you picked them up, in which your mate's keys now sat? Or am I missing something here?

Your problem ain't as rare as it sounds. I once had two acquaintances who both drove old yellow Kingswood station wagons. At least once I saw one of the blokes go to the other guy's car, successfully open it with his keys, and drive away - only to return in a couple of minutes when the mistake was realised

I'm actually laughing at how 80s CP's story is!

- keys to unlock the car, not a clicker.
- Lennies

and the best part of all

- CB radio!

"Breaker, breaker Rubber Ducky!

Overland Radio 561 calling."

Gold.

LOL .. No they didn't (this was when the panic set in at red alert), and thinking about it, why would someone keep a set of their own car keys in their car??

stupidest thing ive ever done, besides sit infront of dogwatcher on a bus trip (no spew hit me i think, but the smell was horendous) was getting my little captain out far too much on a footy trip, after stopping for dw's spew everyone else piled out for sympathies, i was still drinking so out it come, to cars passing by, or just as encouragement for people who couldnt quite spew. one of my team mates apparently gets grumpy when he spews so he kicked me in the balls. he stayed put after that.
oh and there was the one where i went swimming at 4 am on a footy trip and rotated my thumb out of its socket.

I don't know how many people have done this but unwrapping a piece of food, say a muesli bar, and chucking the bar away while keeping the wrapper in hand.

Also had a nasty experience following a car accident.
2.30am, got the call up to take some photo's of this car crash, so i quickly jumped out of bed, put on some pants and did the diggety to the accident.
When there, there were a few onlookers, this car was pretty f'd up, i just started snapping pics as directed.
All of a sudden a chick frm the crowd of onlookers approaches and begins hassling me calling me sick and perverted.
I told her in no uncertain terms her being amongst the group of onlookers was no different to me taking photo's, and i'm just doing me job.
The following dialogue took place.
"Look, i don't hassle you when you're at work, so why don't you just F..K OFF?" i said.
She said (lips quivering) "Don't tell me to f..k off, that's my boyfriend in that car."
Needless to say, i felt like a bit of a dick.
I got out of there pretty quick.

Not drunk, just typing quickly. But typing quickly is something I did learn in 'journalism school'. ;)

The more times I read that line, the more sense it makes. Perhaps it is me who is drunk.

No, no, there was some bad writing there.

Crush jumped into the pool (alongside which I'd left my brand new mobile phone), fractured his thumb and then came into the only room he had access to. In his jocks crawled into the double bed that I'd managed to crawl into 15 minutes earlier and was just managing to get to sleep. There's nothing more scary than waking up next to a bald fat man in his jocks.

BTW - it was more like 6am that all this happened, not 4am, I'd just managed to grab some breakfast from Maccas before hitting the hay.

That's not a stupid thing SS. I'd do exactly the same if I opened the wrapper and found a muesli bar inside
