How tough is Brendan McCullum. I'd have been in a f@cken ambulance

Read today's Advertiser 'Brendan McCullum didn't stand up when the heat was on' quote from Ben Horne. Who ever the f**k he is.

Adelaide media never let you down.

Australia had a cracking day of cricket yesterday, Hardly McCullums fault. Bowlers weren't great and McCullums field placements are always and probably will always be a little left field but, Again hardly his fault Australia had a cracking day.

Ben Horne is Richards brother :D

Opposing skippers are always going to cop cheap heat from our journos. Easy marks in an attempt to sell papers. It's akin to someone coming out on a local footy show and saying Carey and Wristy like getting on the cans and heading to the land of promise. Much like McCullum I'm not sure what else we can do :D

I agree with you here, his bowlers were terrible. Although I still have some doubts about decisions about when he brought on Mark Craig even with the second new ball. He has 4 seamers in the side, Southee went off and I think if you want to point the finger at someone who didn't stand up yesterday it was Trent Bolt. Bracewell and Neesham are only a support act to the main guys. Southee had his movements when he bowled with good pace and swing but these were few and far between. Bolt was dreadful all day. Had no line and a no length. Really let his captain down as you just cant set a field to that.

Another average review. The keeper has to take some credit for that.

Boult does look better early though.

Things definitely look more difficult out there thus morning. Maybe a combination of the pitch and some better bowling. Either way it would be a bit worrying if the opposition makes 600+ and batting starts to become a bit harder.

Another ton up, never, ever in doubt. Hold the ball up Neil Jenny Craig David. Won't be surprised if he notches a crisp 150

I'm thinking 600 and have a 20 minute squirt before tea is the plan....Any advances???

The pitch quickens up on day 2 with more favourable bowling conditions. Day 1 the pitch is normally a bit soft

Solid 60-75 mins after tea get to 550-580. Have a 30-40 min crack before tea.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

If we go a run a ball after tea I can see us still getting 600 and getting that 30 minute tilt that might yield one or two. With M Marsh at 6 and Jono at 8 this position is tailor made for them.

Either way the Kiwis are push it sh8t uphill with a broken wheelbarrow :D

So since hitting our soil the NZ attack has taken 4/1,024

With double tons to Finch and Carters
150s to Warner and Uzi
50s to Voges and Burnsy
Steve Smith has been a real let down with his 48

He's done it :)
Bracewell has done the ton as well.

However I can feel a wicket coming. I think Voges might have a real tilt at a 100*. Great for the average and looks good on the scorecard.

Hard to see Smith declaring until these lads are either dismissed of bring up their next milestones. Hopefully it all happens around the same time, but sometimes these things drag on a bit.

I'd suggest if one of these two are dismissed he will call them in.
