Why can they not afford to play div 3 but are fine in div 4? Have a feeling I know where you sit with this pag so I won't push ya mate, sets a dangerous precedent though doesn't it[*]

No club would be seriously competitive in Div 3 without paying players. It has been for years and expect will be for years to come that Salibury do not pay players at all. I would assume that would be a huge reason they've ellected to play in div 4
May be a huge reason but it is a completely irrelevant reason. They finished second and their B Grade were undefeated, by far the most prepared club for Division 3 out of all clubs in Div 4 last season.
I have no issue with Salisbury and Pag is a top bloke but this is a shameful decision and the rule needs to be changed.
I hope for the sake of competitions integrity Salisbury do not dominate Div 4 and Div 4 R next year.

i also expect div 4 to be a lot stronger next year then this year going on what im hearing with clubs. So could work out that salisbury could look stupid next season in the A grade if they fail to make the top 5

If Menzel from Geelong can do it, then big bad bustling Tommy Lipson can do it!

Menzel from Geelong isn't the4th best player in his family though. Tom Lipson is after Chris, Alan and Lipson iced tea.
