Shuey two on one inside 50 picks out the Hawk. Darling drops a chest mark inside 50. Hawks bumble and fumble it forward and Shoenmakers goals. History will record those plays sealed the premiership for Hawthorn.

Being able to put players on the veterans list and reduce amount included in cap, helps.

They've also been assisted in recent years by being able to get Frawley and Lake through free agency.

im pretty sure there is no such thing as a veterans list anymore.

also, get young kids holding their clubs to ransom and dictating where they want to go helps, i.e gunston.
