There was a couple other NT guys at Torrens in late 80's as well, Athanasiou is another i can remember.

This is off topic, but Torrens had some good players in late 80's, Clarke, Bruce and Chris Lindsay, Long, Payze, Robson, Niemann, Fotia, they probably should have been more successful than they were. Depth was probably their problem.

Looking at the Torrens sides of the 80s I would definitely agree with that GWW. The best 20 was highly competitive, but after that, there wasn't much else. Torrens didn't have much to work with in terms of area, and being a cash strapped club in this time could not afford big recruits.

Long only played for West Torrens in 1988 (22 matches, 11 goals), finishing equal third in the Magarey, with 17 votes.

Didn't think so!
Top bloke, a few of us had the pleasure of meeting him in Darwin.

PS: Before any one gets up Wedgie for drinking VB, that was my Couger he was holding.

Last year Wedgie gave me a A4 size of this pic, as a essendon supporter I was (still am) pretty stoked with it.

Pretty sure he was also * ineligible for the Magarey that year spelly. He was reported for tripping at elizabeth in our "narrow" loss out there that year, I think the dogs won by one hundred and ninety eight points (198).
Pretty sure we had three long brothers playing at torrens, Chris? the third long? not all played league though. Not to be confused with the chinese recruit, how long.

He wasn't suspended though, I assume that was a reprimand. Torrens had 13 fit players at the end of that match. Only Michael and Noel played League.
