Pull your head in. Of course it's inflammatory.

I experienced an incident with the Sturt Cheer squad at the Adelaide oval some years back -08 finals. A group of 5 or so lads, yelling abuse at members of the crowd for no reason, including a group of elderly couples who were stunned to be on the receiving end. This lad was in the group but not the main troublemaker. Both the police and SANFL security came up to me afterwards and told me the lead trouble maker in particular was a known heavy amphetamine user, known for violent outbursts and had form. Funny -the group looks harmless enough, but when they get together at the footy off they go.

As a Sturt member I'd like to say a few things.
I don't condone certain actions from the Sturt Cheer Squad. They are repeated and have been over time. These actions are way overboard, juvenile, inappropriate and unwarranted. Unfortunately, while the SCS put a lot of their own time into the club, which is commendable, there are elements within that are hurting the club itself. A few years ago there was someone who tried to sort this crap out, they did a good job of it but circumstances changed, as they do, yet the same trouble makers are there. These people aren't doing the club any favours in where we're trying to go, the SCS members that give their time and don't cause trouble are to be commended. Unfortunately the others need to change or move on. That we get to a point where an idiot player reacts to an idiot supporter in such a way says it's time for a change for the better. I'm sure people running both Sturt and West have more pressing issues than dickhead supporters and players to worry about.

Is Hartlett appealing the 3 game ban? I heard West were considering appealing but has since gone quiet.

Yes West were hoping for a 5 match ban.

I object to naming the Sturt supporter because it is just what he wants. He should remain the nameless prick that he is.
Only a matter of time before some opposition supporter sorts the matter out by rearranging this guy's face.

I've heard the SANFL twitter has stated that Alleway has received a 2 match ban, can this be confirmed? If so, it's probably the end of his career & a rather crappy way to end it too.
Furthermore, if he IS out, that's great for Us, We probably just made up 5 goals on Glenelg!

I know just what you mean. I suspect a few others have had similar feelings this year.

Spitting.

Him and Obsty were strange cats - both have these bizarre brain snaps on the field. Must be frustrating for their clubs.

2 games for spitting in the direction of an opponent?
Shouldnt every player be suspended every week then?
Geezus, Jimmy Allan should get life for vomitting in the direction of an opponent!

It is a bit surprising - two games, let alone one.
Be interesting to know how close said expectoration got to opposing player.
