Great new for the Sydney Kings and the NBL in general with their announcement today they've re-signed star import and former NBA veteran Josh Childress to a 1 year deal.

The Sydney Kings are proud to announce that the club have retained star import Josh Childress for the 2015/16 National Basketball League Season.

Childress had an outstanding debut campaign for the purple and gold last season that saw him earn the club’s Most Valuable Player award and a selection in the All-NBL First Team.

The former NBA star led the NBL in points with 21.1 per game, in rebounds with 9.2 per game, and in blocks with 2.1 per game while also finishing the season ranked in the top five for assists with 4.2.

The 32-year-old American shunned interest from a number of clubs around the globe to continue his career as a Sydney King and is now looking forward to building long-term success at the club.

Bit of a coup for the Sydney Kings they've just signed Marcus Thornton as their other import. The 6'4" guard was just drafted by the Boston Celtics with the 45th pick in the draft so the Celtics are essentially loaning him out to the Kings. He played his college ball at College of William & Mary.
