What more does this bloke need to do to get a look in?!

Hit his 5th 100 since he has been in England, is scoring as prolifically as anybody in the world currently - and in all forms.. continues to churn out the runs..

Is he the next Jamie Siddons/ Jamie Cox?

He's too young. Gotta be 35 before you get a look in these days

Maxy no hope of higher honours now....

Finch out of the Indian tour with a broken foot picked up in County Cricket with Yorkshire, Glenn Maxwell to take over as Overseas player for all formats. Callum Ferguson takes Maxwell's place in the First Class squad for the Australia A Tour.

still only averages 38 at first class level. Compare that with Rogers 50, and Voges 46, it is easy to see why a sustained run of form would get them in ahead of klinger.

Klinger has the ability to make huge scores, but to average 38 still means he doesnt make them often enough.

Career average.. I would be interested to see the recent seasons - he was a slow starter with Victoria, and be interested to see how they stack up around the country at the same time.

2012/13 -
T20 - 242 @ 34.57 - 0x 100
LO - 341 @ 42.63 - 0x 100
SS - 330 @ 19.41 - 0x 100

2013/14
T20 - 223 @ 44.60 - 0x 100
LO - 380 @ 76.00 - 1x 100
SS - 568 @ 37.87 - 2x 100

2014/15
T20 - 326 @ 36.22 - 1x 100
LO - 208 @ 41.60 - 0x 100
SS - 1046 @ 58.11 - 4x 100

Throw in his England Summer this year:
CC - 348 @ 48.00
T20 - 653 @ 93.29

It reads to me like a player who finally understand his game and is becoming increasingly consistent over recent seasons - particularly in the shorter formats.. now would be the ideal time to give him an opportunity - no different to Voges who worked his way in after a break out season.

Klinger had a dreadful stat line over a long time when he moved to SA. The career line says something no doubt but so too did how much cricket he played with a terrible average. Victoria seemed to see something in him so perhaps that's something in his favour.

I don't see him being a success, but if he's the best form bat then bring him in IMHO. Always think a guy who bats top 3 can bat anywhere and you can add a few runs to the average by moving him down.

I don't think Klinger is, or would be, Test match standard. Plenty less than him have been given a go though.

Joe Burns should be the one over there IMO.
