North not switched on yesterday- very obvious.
They cruised down the Bay thinking Glenelg had 2 Premiership points gift wrapped for them- how wrong they were.
As Jars has said in the past, attitude beats ability- this was so true yesterday.

Spot on I wouldn't write North off you don't thump Port by 80+ points at Alberton if you aren't a good side, at the same time I'm not going to cancel my summer vege order for September as yesterday we proved diddly squat unless we repeat that sort of effort over the next month.

If North played with the same attitude yesterday as we did with the ability they have in their side they would beat any other side in this comp.

Port were struggling in recent weeks, having lost several in a row they were going to win one sooner or later. In the next three weeks Port have Rd 16 a bye, Rd 17 Central @ Alberton and Rd 18 South at Hickinbotham. Port have the opportunity to rest their players over the bye and focus on the game against Central at home, win that game and they will likely steam roll their way through the finals - as used to be usual!

the word was out during the week that the dogs were getting flogged on the track, so that might have had something to do with the result, that may be an excuse as well so well done to the cocks, however i will be very surprised if they repeat that result if they play the dogs again this year

Why couldn't North repeat the result later in the year? Sure Centrals will lift the bar and itensity come finals time as clearly pointed out by Jars last night and with the addition of 3 or 4 players like Westhoff, Slattery, Wilson Centrals will be considerably stronger when it counts. Centrals may have had an off day to a degree yesterday and have relaxed having wraped up the minor premiership but twice this year they have been beaten and can be again.

However North has the ability to lift the bar too and wins like yesterday's give the playing group the confindence. Also don't forget North are no way near full strength either when you add Wintle, Bamford, Weatherley and Gill to the mix.

Also whilst our coach won't publicaly say it - the last 4 weeks North players have been flogged on the track too in preperation for the finals. A number of Senior players have been very vocal to all and sundry about the workload. A very flat performance against Port and the loss to a very good Sturt side have woken the players up and our last two weeks have been very good.
