No need to apologise, you can never have too many links to a game when North beat Collingwood, you're only as good as you're last game so North are a better club than Collingwood!

Showed the footage to the kids this morning and they loved it, hopefully the Cats can do the same thing to Collingwood today when Im in amongst the Collingwood Adelaide supporters group at the Rosemont! :D

Agreed ... reminds us how good that team was and, in that game, how good Antrobus was on his day.

There's some great Roosters' footage on YouTube - someone called REDROOST68 is doing a great job ... is that you?

Type 'Roosters North Adelaide' in to the search thing and reminisce away like I have been this morning
In between signatures .....

The SF in the 1975 NFL game you used the abbreviate NA instead of NM

Also, do you have the umpires for these games, I have a fair few of them but am missing the odd one!

Thanks for spotting that. :) And the only umpire I have of any of those matches is Peter Mead in the Norwood/Carlton match.

There's some great footage from Wessie on there; needless to say, I give my thanks and hope to see some more videos on there. 8)

LMAO. There was no Crows or Power around in 1986 my friend. The Roosters were a good combination in 86 too IIR. I'd barrack for Strut next year if the Roosters could defeat Collingwood this season.

Regardless of Crows and Power, the VFL was still a better competition.

P.K Mead - Thanks mate - I didn't have an umpire for the Norwood v Carlton Clash - one less thing to search for. Thousands of things to go!

What I forgot is that I took down the details of the three matches North played in the VFL NIght Series:

1st Round match was played against Melbourne at Football Park on the 15th of April (Tuesday night between Rounds 3 and 4)

North 1.1 6.4 7.8 13.10 (88)
Melbourne 1.3 2.4 4.8 8.13 (61)
Attendance: 2,933

Best: North: Antrobus, J.Riley, S.Riley, Hart, Redden, Armfield
Melbourne: Johnson, Stretch, Healy, Newport, Lyon, Wilson

Goals: North: Antrobus, Hart, Poynton 2, Carlaw, D.Jarman, Klomp, Parsons, Zoontjens
Melbourne: Healy 4, Grinter 2, Johnson, Stretch

Quarter Final match was, as noted, against Collingwood at Waverley on the 6th of May (Tuesday night between Rounds 6 and 7). However, Round 7 was a split round; North played the following week.

North 1.3 4.7 5.13 8.19 (67)
Collingwood 2.1 2.3 8.5 9.5 (59)

I've only got the goals for this match:
Goals: North: Hart, Dietrich, Carlaw, Poynton, Parsons, Robertson, Bennett, Redden
Collingwood: Abernethy 2, Smith, Dixon, Williams, T.Shaw, N.Shaw, Manson, Sumner

And the Semi-Final against Hawthorn was also at Waverley on the 3rd of June (Tuesday night between Rounds 9 and 10)

Hawthorn 4.5 7.8 14.7 23.12 (150)
North 2.3 3.5 5.7 8.12 (60)
Attendance: 3,320

Best: Hawthorn: Brereton, Dunstall, Wallace, DiPierdomenico, Buckenara, Platten, Loveridge, Ayres
North: A.Jarman, Campbell, Parsons, D.Jarman

Goals: Hawthorn: Dunstall 8, Judge, DiPierdomenico 3, Brereton, Kennedy, Loveridge 2, Buckenara, Wallace, Eade
North: Poynton 2, Parsons, Carlaw, Robertson, Hart, Wildy, Simmons

I am certain these games were on TV and they were played mid-week but no doubt they would have been on tape-delay so that they could start on channel 7 at 8.30pm.

I agree, I reckon I might have been in a dilemma as to whether to wait for the TV match to start or listen to it on radio, pretty sure I grew impatient with the semi final and didn't bothe watching much on TV when I heard Hawthorn were killing us.
Oh for the days when we were in the best 4 clubs in Australia on the field where now we're 17th. Its been a gradual decline since 72 when we were No 1.

Just a question how are North now the 17th best team in Australia, to be honest they wouldn't be in the top 20.

David Robertson won the TV for being best man on the ground against Collingwood. That gave rise to Collingwood recruiting him at the end of the year even though he was contracted to North for 1987. He stood out of footy for the whole of 1987 and missed out on a premiership at North.

Andrew Jarman and John Riley both missed the Collingwood game with injury.

Does anyone remember who got the TV for b.o.g. against Melbourne. I thought that it might have been Andrew Jarman, but he doesn't seem to be mentioned in the best players.
