SFL should get on board with the whole thing and have a bye or not get involved at all.
Yes tight lines last year this weekend did cost Josh Vick the Mail Medal - will common sense prevail next year???????

If what you say is true mexican then it is a league first. The SFL has actually used common sense to fix a problem.
I always thought the SFL has a strict rule on dealing with problems in the league dont they???? ignore it until it either goes away or totally stuffs up everything.

Funny actually I mentioned this in my earlier post and was shot down by swooper. Looks like the SFL read "the lova's" post and took it on board. better luck next time swooper.

Well done to the league for allowing players with legitimate excuses to pull out of the carnival and not be penalised. They have however set a precedent and it would not surprise me in future years that they find upwards of 10 players pull out at the last minute citing work.

In fact Lova if you actually hung out at a footy club on a Thursday night for more then 5 minutes you would’ve heard these points being raised over a beer or two. Who knows you may even enjoy the event of socialising with others and the experience of actually living – rather then sitting behind your computer 24/7 concocting warped opinions formed in your darkened bat cave.

So You discussed this issue at your footy club last nite over a few beers hey??? I bet everyone was really impressed when you recited everyone elses opinion from this site and made it look like you have a clue about football. I will keep "living behind my computer" and writing my opinions in order to give you something to sound smart about in front of your drunk friends.

Why dont you and zelezny keep having your beers, holding hands and discussing comic book heroes together every thursday night...... Now thats what I call a great "social life" to me??????????

Its a simple solution BYE! Most Players arent going to want to miss a week off footy so then they play, they dont need to worry about how there side went and all is back to normal the week after. Some will still miss with work at least more would show intrest. Another easy answer no doubt the league will just let fly under them.

Don’t wanna bore every1 on here with a personal slanging match. But Lova if you think i spend my personal time quoting you or even worse Z.Chucks you are very much mistaken.

Just saying that at a footy club you generally discuss matters relating to footy - just like on the forum. Even better is that you do it over a beer with your mates (if you need clarification a mate usually appears in the form of a human who express themselves through words and actions rather then the written form and pop up boxes that you are clearly used to)

Each to their own tho I guess. Anyway thats it for me on this.

Good call swooper no slanging match here. I do indeed know what it is like to have a beer at my footy club on a thursday nite have been doing it for the last 10 years at the same club. can you say the same?
and do I know what a mate is. Thankfully my mates dont recite dictionaries, comic books and SFL forum topics to have a good time. say hi to zelezny for me at your next book club meeting.
Anyway thats it for me on this also!!!!

Looking forward to the result of this one. Aldinga have shown a major improvement over the last 2 years and with games like this they should be going into it full of confidence and expecting to do well... Not too sure how Noarlunga's injry list is at the moment but i would expect Aldinga to push them all the way. Tips for this week are:
Falcons - 40 goals
Winefly's - 8 goals
Sharks - 3 goals
Emus - 20 goals (another smashing for Tony Meekins at the hand of the emu's)
Cobra's - 40 goals
Vikings - 5 goals
Cockledivers - 12 goals

I've seen Noarlunga play once this year not the worst side going around but I think that if the Sharks can play smart footy and not just bomb it in where Comer will just sit back and take the grab then they are a real chance!

As for Tony Meekins im sure Christies are a bit scared to get rid of him as a coach I mean look at the powerhouse he left at Morphie Parks!

Still think you guys mite be dreaming here. they may be closer than usual but still think the shoes will win this one by 5 or so goal.
Dont get me wrong there is nothing I would rather see than the sharks beat the shoes but still think its one more year away.
Guess we will wait and see. fingers crossed tho.

Having seen both Aldinga and the Shoes play, i would say Noarlunga by about 10 goals. As mentioned earlier the Sharks have improved, but still may need another year to beat sides other than Hackham and Morphie Parks.

Afraid it is true. Bacchman was playing a great game in the grand final, went up for a big grab, came down on his shoulder and broke the collarbone.

Southern Districts won the championships again.

Played South East and Northern Cities on the first day, won both after being behind early, to get into the grand final on day 2.
In the other group Central, Eyre and Mallee finished with one win each, but Central beat Mallee by about 10 goals to finish top.

Southern over Central by about 8 goals or so in the grand final.

Team of the Championship had Ramsey at full forward and Vick roving.
Vick finished 2nd in the player of the championship voting.
