spot on mate having spent quite some time in the hills league the styles of footy are very different. Hills is alot more in tight and crash and bash as you said largely due to their ovals but the SFL is alot quicker and i believe a more physical brand of footy which when the conditions are good and you have 2 good sides creates a bloody good spectacle. As compared to not knowing who is on your side and who isnt because of the muddy crap the hills play on. No good to play on and certainly no good to watch.

Bit touchy "Dutchman" just got a sense from your previous posts with "The Lova" that you don't get to see to many SFL games unless it is finals time. How surprising to hear that the emu spectators abused the emu players, at least it means that they are not abusing opposition spectators and looking to cause trouble.[/quote]

You believe everything you hear do you... The way i've read todays forum has the opinions of 2 different sides to the story obviously you've chosen the negative side... Good on you... If buffhead was standing near the clubrooms, he would of heard the abuse, front running fwits, being told that they were embarresing the club and themselvs, and more. 10 morphies supporters in morphies gear all yelling it.
The players also heard it. Also wondering why pollard played, I know his major goal this year is to kick 100 goals, but you would of thought that he would make sure he was right first. Played half the game and then didnt play the second half. Did he do the same injury?

Still finding it hard to believe was there anyone else there who witnessed the abuse...?? Were you at the game Lova..?? I'm led to believe that Pollard is fine and will play this week, unrelated injury and he was right going ino the game..

I was at the game mexican but was sitting in my car (due to the bad weather). So unfortuantely didnt hear the alleged abuse. But the area that "get a kick" was explaining and if they were wearing morphies gear It sounds like the MOB and they wouldnt abuse players (unless in jest). they are past players and surely know that abusing and being abused results in nothing. Even if they were frustrated (I know I was) I couldnt see these guys abusing. but I wasnt there and didnt hear it so thats just my opinion.

I find it very hard to believe that anyones supporters would "heckle and boo" their own team when they are down by 1 goal at half time in terrible conditions. Obviously this comment was a cheap grab to get a rise out of people.

Was at the game saturday and Morphies crowd definately getting stuck into their team as they entered the changerooms halftime. Nothing too serious comments like "better pull your f#@ken finger out boys " ..... "that first half was a disgrace" etc etc.

Morphett Vale players and coach were actually quite good though and clearly appreciated a tough contest for 3 quarters. The game was played in good spirit but Emus ran away with the game in the last quarter. Morphies did have some of their best out but lions also had 8 of their best players out including mail medal runner up and captain Liam Harris, full forward Kieran Mcintyre, ex South league player Damien Rigney, Rob Wilson, Scott Patching our first and second choice ruckman.

Does anyone have any more info about which players have been selected to play in the district carnival. heard that Vick, Ramsey and Reavill were in the mix from cove. Is there a squad and then players are cut from it? or is it purely picked from the performances in association weekend?

There is a squad, and the final team is chosen after the second practice, Wednesday night. One selector from each league and the coach will pick the squad while the boys have a quick dinner. One would presume that performance in the association games would play a fairly big part, but players who missed the association game came into the squad last year.

After his performance at last year's championships Vick would have to have played some pretty ordinary footy this year to miss out.

Cove play Morphetville Park this week..I reckon they would be happy with that considering Vick, Ramsey and both Reavills are a chance to miss due to the District side also not mentioning they are missing Heath through injury..5 of there best if not best 5 players. That game may not be such a blow out..could of been 40 goals with those 5 playing

Will still be Jono, Morphie Parks are no good... Where it could hurt is i think someone mentioned that Reynella are playing Brighton and the other one is the Emus playing Christies, if Morphies lose another 3-4 this game could be a lot closer than people might have originally thought.

good call mexican. A few key players out of reynella's side and brighton could easily snatch the points. ANy Reynella supporters out there that know who is in the squad from Reynella? Wouldnt think there would be anyone from Brighton but I could be wrong?

OTB see what your saying, however, he didn't play FB against Aldinga as there looking for other options there as he has been carved there this year... He played on Prescott at Fb and was carved played on the young M Vale lad and was carved he isn't having a great year... I rate him however, how you can have him in Cove's best 5 is beyond me...So you would take him over a D Reavill or a Ramsey?

Yeah ok, point taken Jono.

I think i would take D. Reavill over Ramsey though. His a very smooth mover from what i've seen.

Although I've only been out to prob. 6 or 7 games this year.

Been here all along (monitoring for the right time to strike).....not sure with the Bombers. I think a few big boys short to really take it up to the likes of M/Vale, Reynella & Cove....Come season end we may take up a blanket appeal and buy some big blokes for next year......not writing this year off mind you....on the bigger grounds we may just be able to keep it away from the likes of Gill who just loves sitting in the spot and taking easy grabs (knowing no big body will crush in).....
