For it to grow I believe it needs to be inclusive to all clubs just like the FA Cup is, not just a select few.

Yep should include the amatuer clubs as well.

I understand there is issues because of the amatuer leagues refusal to sign up with the FFA (which from the facts I know is the right deciscion not to) but the amateurs should at least get a chance to play cup games against each other and then the winner could jump in at the early stages of the fed clubs

The FFA is also worried a amatuer team like Elizabeth Downs or Parafield Gardens would actually genuinely challenge teams like Adelaide City, which they did a few years ago making it to the quarters of the cup then beating two super league sides only to have an ammo game on a Saturday and the FFA cup on a Sunday, neither league would reschedule there game so the downs pulled out of the FFA cup game

The FFA cup and ACL games are legit full on games, both teams rested stars on the weekend so they could play their best sides tonight.
The Foxtel cup was just a mickey mouse gimmick that most sides used to get game time into fringe players and kids.

Yeah that is true.
The big differance is the FFA cup was brought in as a midweek comp and also its the FFA's way of giving something back to the grassroots clubs. Games that were played at the home grounds of the non A-League attracted good crowds and in all games both clubs share the gate.
The Foxtel cup was designed for commercial purposes, was initially started to fill in times between AFL games shown on Foxtel. Then all the games were not played at Suburban grounds so you had the SANFL sides playing at AAMI and not sure if they got a cut from the gate.

That may come but ATM they are trying to gather support for the comp.
Neutral venue wont work just yet, imagine United v Perth in Melb or Sydney, there would be about 15 people there. Hopefully once the sports grows more a neutral ground can be used. I dont mind the home final as such just that it should of been drawn from a hat not "given" to Adelaide because of the time zone. The ACL is a two leg final perhaps the FFA cup could be aswell to be fair to both sides

Agree it won't work at the moment and as you said maybe a two leg final is an option but imho until that happens or we see a neutral venue having the final at a home ground for no legit reason makes it pretty Mickey Mouse imho

Even whoevers name was drawn first out the hat would make it more legit
