luckily for me, my side has the bye in c1 and can stay out of the rain for at least another week.

trained at daly last nite and it was ok. bit slippery/muddy in the middle and heavy on the outer wing, but should hold up ok if it doesnt rain too much overnight.

cheers for that - hopefully it can dry out a bit so it least can resemble a game of footer rather than a rolling maul it will if it stays wet and muddy.

I think there has already been plenty of rain around and there might be a bit more as the day goes by, so by the time it comes to the A grade games the ovals might be a bit hacked up. :)

Bring it on! Love the mud!

Im probably the slowest player you have ever seen. So anything that helps me keep up with the young blokes is a bonus. I would play in a swamp if i could!

Well if you got enough rain today, your oval could look like a swamp, but i dont think its going to rain that much.

Very enjoyable reading the results in the paper this morning. Great win by the Demons. One of the best wins seen up at the Valley for quite some time. (with room for improvment too!)

Yeah great win by the Valleys :D It would be nice to play Blackfriars in dry conditions now that both games have been played in pouring rain. Maybe in the finals? But it could be raining then too...

...while I'm here, I have to say well done to the Blackfriars B grade captain for winning the toss and kicking into the wind with showers on the way. The wind died off in the second quarter and the Valleys were already too far in front!! Genius!!

Electing to kick into a 5 goal breeze? Hmm probably not the best idea. Oh well he must of had his reasons.

Great win and to be honest, a good standard game skill wise, quite surprising and pleasing also. Talking to some supporters they were eluding to a few players retiring next year for the Valley's. If indeed you guys do go up, how would this effect your Div 5 aspirations? They seemed to think that maybe 3 - 4 of your quality older players time was up.

Id like to know who the 3-4 older players are...
I can really only think of one older player in the A's the rest are early 30s or under. I reckon the average age would be 25-26.

Yeah to be honest I can only think of two A graders that may possibly retire due to age, so I think we would be well covered if we do go up next year. There may be a few B graders that might retire aswell, but unless we lose players to other clubs we should still have good depth next year, whichever div we are in. Should have some juniors continuing to come through. Plus a good result generally helps recruiting.

It's always good to beat the favourites.
Particularly when they have a reputation of talking themselves up.

Be careful b&b....who knows what side you will have for the run to the finals....still plenty of wet weather footy to come I reckon and with that comes more injuries etc....still I think you are well placed.

Excuses is all we hear from you boys....both times we have played you we haven't been at full strength, but we won't go on about it like you do....when you lost to GG - must have been undermanned....as Tanka said, you have no idea what team you will have coming in to finals, so you have to pull it together with what you have, instead of using it as an excuse....that is what we have had to do, and done so quite well so far.

And mypaddock...we did not say too much when we beat you boys, and talked up what a good game it was, but I think we have probably carried on a bit after last week because of how much Friars talk themselves up on this site all the time.

There's still plenty left in the season, so there is no use getting ahead of yourselves yet.
