This is going to screw up my mate as well. He runs the Red Frogs team who provide patron support by giving out red frogs, zooper doopers and water. He had organised time off work and all the provisions required for their support...

I have a friend coming from America for it. Gets here on the 11th. I'll most likely go Thursday, Friday and Saturday now. Let's hope it goes for 5 days! If any of my friends can get time off then I'll go Tuesday and Wednesday too.

It's far from ideal but it's an extreme circumstance. Even if its bought forward I'd be genuinely shocked to see less than the modern day ground record in day 1 attendance no matter what day it starts....

Yes I think people will make a real effort to get there on Day 1. I'm lucky I have a flexible workplace so the change doesn't really bother me too much. I understand how others might be put out by it though. But shit happens and these are extreme circumstances so I don't think anyone can be upset at the change.

I'll be there for sure. I reckon it'll be one of those days where you can't move inside and the southern gate will have heaps watching on the screen too. It's an important day for Australia as a whole.

I don't think its going to affect me as I fear they are re-scheduling last week's games on that Saturday....and seeing that it will be day 5 I can't see them not.

Not ideal and will stuff up many peoples plans, other factor was Most kids start school holidays on the Friday which was going to be Day 1, but considering the circumstances its hard to be upset for one year.

If I had a child i'd ask them if they wanted to go to school on day 1 or if they didn't I'd take them to the test. You'd learn **** all on the last day however you'd learn a lot going to the test that day even as an adult.

I heard they may be playing last weeks round on Sunday Dec 21, but only for A and B Grade.

Would be better playing Dec 13 or 14 as weeked will be free now if Test match does not go to Day 5.

Find out tomorrow probably.

Lucky bugger.

I was hoping to go on my birthday, but now the date's been changed, I don't know if I can get off work.

Furious, SA again bows to the Easten States, I'll take a refund and Cricket Australia can get stuffed.

Given the later series start , could Michael Clarke be ready to play in the First Test ?

i hoped that ferg would be a chance to take Clarkes spot if he wasn't fit.
But It would be awesome to see Clarke hit a ton on day one for his mate
