Ambassador only. You wouldn't want him in a football role IMO

Players will not respond to show cause notices. Apparently this means they head straight to the tribunal now to sort this out.

So that will mean the players will be handed sanction notices tomorrow morning meaning they are currently a banned player.

I love this little bit from ASADA boss Ben McDevitt

"While all claim to represent the interest of the players and/or Australian sport, the advice as to remedial actions varies dramatically.

"In my role as protector of clean athletes in Australia, my advice to them is that if they want to act in the best interest of the players they should review the 12,000 pages of evidence and follow the due process.

"I only wish that such interest in player welfare had been present in 2012."

My take was that it just goes straight to the AFL to decide the penalties now. Probably in 2-3 weeks they will go on trial, they wouldnt be banned until the outcome of that id think or am I missing something?

So the AFL get to decide their fate now?
This might be payback time for the AFL but knowing how Gill and his boys look after the big clubs id expect players will miss a month of games only.
Gill only sees the $$$ cant have one of his big money makers missing for an extended period surely

They are classified as a banned player as soon as they receive a sanction notice. So they could receive a sanction notice and have the hearing 6months down the track, I would think it would be within a couple of weeks. The players and ASADA go to the tribunal and the AFL panel decide the outcome. Don't forget that WADA can still step in if they are not happy with the outcome from the AFL panel

I'd also expect the sanction notices to be handed down tomorrow. The only good thing for the players is that the time between the sanction notices and and the final verdict counts towards their sentence.

So do you think there is any chance of any player getting off?
Zaharakis refused any injections but got a SC notice because he signed the waiver form, would think they would need to prove he received an injection. Also reading the evidence the ammount of TB4 alledgedly brought by Dank was only enough for about 30-40 doses, did every player receive 1 dose only which hardly seems beneficial or did a couple of players receive multiple injections of it and some none?
Still cant believe Dank will never have to face any music it seems, he keeps saying nothing prohibitive was given but wont talk to ASADA

I don't understand why Dank can't be made accountable either.

Surely this aspect of the saga has to be reviewed so that someone can't thumb their nose at the process in the future. Also, every avenue should be investigated to ensure that Dank has to answer to the Essendon allegations that he seems to be associated with.

This is probably the bit im most pissed off about.
ASADA have numerous emails from Hird to Dank specifically telling Dank that all supplements must be approved by ASADA and WADA and that nothing illegal or harmful is to be used. Dank keeps saying he gave nothing illegal and that when the time is right he will clear the players names. Im kind of guessing the time is right about now Dank, stop avoiding this mess and take the stand. His testimony will either sink us further or save players but atleast it will face the music

The time was right when all this started. If he has information that could clear him, the players and the club he should have produced it by now. It seems he doesn't have this info, nor does Essendon despite different people from the club saying they gave the players nothing illegal.

I can't see any player getting off. I don't think they will be dealt heavy suspensions (18 months) I think it will be probably 6months max. The problem is the players have said they have had injections but don't actually know what substances they were given. ASADA also have the evidence of the club purchasing the substance. Basically in a doping case you are guilty until proven innocent, so at the tribunal it isn't going to be ASADA asked to prove the players took the drug, it will be the players asked to prove they didn't take the drug. I thought that Zaharakis ended up taking a pill form because he didn't like injections.

Dank basically has faced the music, he won't be allowed to work in any sport ever again. For many years to come he will have some eyes watching him very very closely. It is crap he won't bring the evidence forward but the only reason he hasn't is because the only thing I can see it doing is killing the Essendon football club.
